About this property
3 Bed in Dolgellau (oc-wah570)
This beautifully restored, detached stone farmhouse in a secluded and elevated location above the village of Ganllwyd in the Coed y Brenin Forest is perfect for a family or group of friends with up to three four-legged friends looking for a peaceful and active holiday in this beautiful part of Wales. The property boasts wonderful panoramic views of the forested hills and Cader Idris mountain range. There is walking in the National Trust South Snowdonia Nature Reserve less than three miles away.
This charming two-storey property retains a cottage style, combining original exposed beams with slate tiled floors, contemporary underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, and solid oak flooring upstairs. Enter the cottage into the kitchen area, where you’ll find a large kitchen to prepare delicious meals and an accompanying light and airy dining space. The cosy L-shaped sitting room boasts a wood burner, an open fire, and exposed stone walls, making it a lovely space to relax. Comfortable seating, including a corner sofa and a TV, invites lazy evenings after a busy day of activities. Completing the ground floor are a shower room and a conservatory with wonderful views of the Cader Idris mountains. Upstairs you’ll find a shower room, a bathroom and three bedrooms - a king-size, a twin and a double. Outside, the enclosed grounds have a lawned area with picnic benches and BBQ for al fresco dining.
Welcome to the great outdoors with the nearby Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre (1.5 miles), offering mountain biking and walking trails to enjoy. From the nearby market town of Dolgellau (6 miles), you can access walking and off-road cycle routes along the Mawddach Trail. South Snowdonia has a wonderful coastline with several long, sandy beaches and must-see popular seaside towns, including Barmouth (15 miles) - so pack your buckets and spades and head out for a day.
