Close to the dock in Robin Hood’s Bay, tucked down a quiet footpath, this historic cottage is a cosy, comfortable and quaint getaway. It’s a great place for a couple, two friends or a small family to relax and unwind by the sea.
Bright and welcoming, the property is set over three storeys, with a gorgeously light and airy kitchen/diner on the ground floor. The homely atmosphere in this room is aided by its large ornamental fireplace, a traditional dresser and a farmhouse-style dining table for four, and you’ll have all the facilities you need to create tasty holiday meals. In the utility room you’ll find a washing machine and, handily, a large space in which you can store bikes. The lounge is on the first floor, another lovely room with soft seating and partial sea views. It’s easy to imagine cosying up in here with a book, some music or perhaps a movie on the Smart TV. The bathroom is on this floor, too, and it’s up some steep and winding stairs to the top floor and the two bedrooms. One is a double with a TV and views over the village to the sea and across to Ravenscar; the other is a single with delightful floral wallpaper; both have slightly sloping ceilings and original exposed beams.
Charming Robin Hood’s bay is a gorgeous base for walkers, nature lovers or anyone who simply wants to escape the everyday. Once you’ve explored the village’s steeply sloping cobbled streets, dotted with independent shops and lovely places to eat and drink, enjoy the fresh sea air with a stroll on the beach (looking out for fossils en route), along the coastal path or inland. If you fancy a change, Whitby is just 6 miles away, and Scarborough 16 miles.
