About this property
1 Bed in Long Bennington (oc-t29871)
Nestled next to the imposing stone Georgian Priory House, a Grade 11 listed Elizabethan Lincolnshire Longhouse offers a unique retreat. Huge chestnut, oak, and beech trees line the leafy wooded drive, welcoming visitors to this romantic hideaway. Experience the charm of village life by dining at local pubs, restaurants and take-aways (0.4 miles). Take a romantic stroll through the picturesque ruins of Newark Castle and explore the bustling market square, where you can shop for local produce, antiques, and crafts (6 miles). Enjoy a coffee at one of the charming cafes and watch the world go by. Delve into history together at the fascinating National Civil War Museum (8.9 miles). Belton House, a stunning National Trust property with beautiful gardens, playpark, parkland and café invites you to enjoy a leisurely walk, or a romantic picnic on the expansive grounds. Additionally, Belvoir Water (3.2 miles), is a great place to relax and fish, offering another serene spot for couples.
Enter through a plant-filled conservatory into the open-plan lounge, diner, and snug area, where ancient oak beams run throughout, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The lounge combines cosy sofas with antique furniture and eclectic ethnic art, inviting you to curl up in front of the fire or watch TV. The charming and unusual décor is adorned with themed collectables for you to admire. The Inglenook fireplace, featuring a wood burner is the focal point in the lounge. A secret door in the antique Padouk wood screen (brought back from Karachi by the explorer and mystic Sir Frances Younghusband in the 1900's) leads to the kitchen and downstairs shower room. The kitchen continues the Indian theme, featuring an Edwardian brown glazed sink and a Rangemaster cooker with a ceramic hob. It is fully equipped for grand cooking, great for rustling up the perfect romantic meal for two. Take the cast iron spiral staircase to the master bedroom, where you'll find a comfortable carved wood double bed for the ultimate night's sleep, bedside cabinets and a dressing table, providing a cosy retreat at the end of the day.
For outdoor space, head towards the front garden with mature trees of all different shades and colours, a table and chairs to relax and drink your morning coffee. And your glass of wine in the evening sun!
