Nestled in the small ancient market town of Broughton-in-Furness, this romantic holiday cottage is perfectly situated for car-free evening dining after days out exploring this picturesque area. The Duddon Valley, honoured by Wordsworth, is on the doorstep, with Coniston, Ambleside and Windermere a short drive away. Broughton, with its Georgian square complete with stocks, has a butcher, delicatessen and bakery all specialising in local produce. Mountain biking, walking, horse riding, fishing, sailing and cruising the lakes are all eminently accessible. Dating back to the 1750s, the cottage is located in one of the best surviving examples of a cobbled courtyard, formerly named Sutney Square. The rear seating area has views over neighbouring gardens and to Broughton Tower parkland beyond. Both the rear seating area and the courtyard itself catch the sun at different times of day making Brock Cottage the ideal place to relax. Beautiful coastline within 2 miles. Shops, pubs and restaurant 200 yards.
