La Cantunera is located in the heart of the CADDA (the old JEWISH QUARTER) and is a home on two levels.
The master bedroom is on the 1ST FLOOR, reachable only by stairs (❌ no elevator).
The accommodation is entirely for your exclusive use: once inside, the house is all yours.
In short: privacy, quiet and historic-centre atmosphere… without sharing the chaos.
🅿️ PARKING (PUBLIC, NEARBY):
As you’re in the historic centre, there is no parking right outside the house.
However, you can park easily in nearby public car parks, such as:
• Parcheggio Porta Palermo
• Piazza Mariano Rossi
✅ For the “braver” drivers (and with a small car), there’s also Cortile Cattano, very close by—though the streets are narrow and require confident driving.

Whenever possible, we welcome you in person (usually until 9:00 PM) so you can settle in calmly and we can share useful tips about the area and the home.
If you arrive later, or prefer full autonomy, we’ll arrange a self check-in with clear instructions sent before arrival.

⚠️ GETTING AROUND & MOBILITY
🚶♀️ ON FOOT: This is the beauty of it—you’re already in the HISTORIC CENTRE, perfect for exploring alleys, restaurants and sights without a car.
🚗 A CAR is recommended if you’d like to explore beaches and the surrounding area easily.
🚌 Local buses are available, but with limited frequency.
🚕 Taxis available (❌ no Uber or similar services).
ℹ️ SOMETHING TO KNOW:
• ZTL / ACCESS BY CAR (POSSIBLE RESTRICTIONS)
At certain times of the day and during certain periods of the year, there may be traffic restrictions (ZTL) or regulated transit areas in the historic center. To avoid stress, the best solution is to leave your car in the recommended parking lots and enjoy Sciacca on foot.
• NARROW ALLEYS & HISTORIC CENTER
La Cantunera is located in the heart of CADDA: ancient, charming streets... but narrow. If you arrive by car, we recommend parking in the main parking lots (e.g., Porta Palermo / Piazza Mariano Rossi) and walking to the house.
🛏️ USE OF THE 2ND BEDROOM (reservations for 2 guests)
If there are 2 of you and you also wish to use the sofa bed or cot, please let us know in advance so that we can prepare it for you.
📜 HOUSE RULES – PLEASE READ AND ACCEPT BEFORE YOUR STAY:
📝 CONTRACT + 🆔 IDENTIFICATION (MANDATORY):
After booking, you will receive:
• the Tourist Rental Agreement to be signed digitally — we use written form as required for rental agreements (L. 431/1998, art. 1 para. 4 + DL 50/2017).
• the link to register ID documents, required to report guest details to Public Security authorities (art. 109 TULPS / Alloggiati Web).
🗑️ WASTE MANAGEMENT (MANDATORY):
Recycling is mandatory and must follow the municipal schedule, which you’ll receive in the house manual and which will be explained at check-in.
🚫 Waste must never be left inside the house, for any reason.
🕗 Every evening, bins with bags must be placed outside the gate, following the indicated schedule.
🚭 SMOKING:
Smoking is not allowed inside the house (including e-cigarettes). Smoke detectors are present and may trigger the alarm.
✅ Smoking is allowed on the balcony / outdoor areas.
🔑⚡ ELECTRICITY USE
When leaving the house, please switch off lights and air conditioning and make sure all taps are properly closed. A small gesture that makes a difference.
💧 WATER USE
Please use water responsibly and avoid waste: in Sicily it is a precious resource, especially during summer. Thank you for your cooperation.
