Your Host – A Warm Welsh Welcome
I was born and raised in a small Welsh village and I’m a proud Welsh speaker. Hospitality has always been part of my life, and it means a lot to see this special place continuing to bring people together.
For over 35 years, my family welcomed customers here, and today it’s wonderful to see the building enjoying a new chapter as a unique space where groups can gather, celebrate and create unforgettable memories.
My favourite features are the open log fire and the 120-year-old bar and original floorboards, which hold so much history and character. They remind me of the many stories, laughter and celebrations that have taken place here over the years.
Now, it’s lovely to see families, friends, adventure seekers, team-building groups and retreat guests enjoying this hidden gem in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, planning an adventure weekend, or simply gathering the people who matter most, I hope Alderfalls becomes a place where your own unforgettable memories are made.
Why they chose this property
Growing up in Wales, I’ve always loved the sense of community, the landscape, and the way people come together to celebrate life’s moments. This area, on the edge of the breathtaking Brecon Beacons National Park, has always felt special to me.
What I love most is the mix of peaceful countryside and adventure. One moment you can be enjoying quiet views, fresh air and the sound of the river or birds, and the next you can be out exploring mountains, waterfalls, cycling trails or outdoor adventures.
One of my favourite simple pleasures is sitting outside on the front benches, watching the Red Kites gliding overhead and seeing the wildlife right on the doorstep. It’s those quiet moments that remind me how lucky we are to be surrounded by such beautiful nature.
It’s a place where people naturally slow down, reconnect, and spend real time together. That’s why it’s perfect for family celebrations, friends reuniting, adventure groups, team building and retreats.
Seeing guests arrive excited, explore the area, then return to relax around the open log fire or the 120-year-old bar is something I never get tired of. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch people make memories here that they’ll talk about for years.
For me, this area isn’t just beautiful — it has a special atmosphere that brings people together, and I love sharing that with guests.
What makes this property unique
What Makes This Property Unique
Alderfalls isn’t just somewhere to stay — it’s an experience.
What truly makes it stand out is that it’s a 120-year-old traditional Welsh pub that has been transformed into a private, exclusive space for groups. The character and history remain at its heart, with the original bar and floorboards where my family welcomed customers for over 35 years.
Instead of a typical holiday rental, guests have the rare opportunity to enjoy a private pub atmosphere all to themselves. It’s a place designed for people to gather, celebrate and relax together — something that’s becoming harder to find.
The property is perfect for family celebrations, milestone birthdays, reunions, adventure groups, team building and retreats, offering both a social hub and a comfortable base to explore the area.
Guests love: • The authentic pub bar and social space • The open log fire, creating a warm, cosy atmosphere • The historic character and original features • The feeling of having a unique venue exclusively for your group
Set near the stunning landscapes of Brecon Beacons National Park, it also combines characterful indoor space with easy access to incredible outdoor adventures.
It’s not just accommodation — it’s a place where stories are shared, laughter fills the room, and unforgettable memories are made.
