About this property

Solway Cottage, Bowness-On-Solway

Summary:

This wonderful, detached cottage located in Cumbria close to Scotland's borders can sleep four people in two bedrooms.

The Space:

Solway Cottage is a marvellous, detached cottage in Bowness-on-Solway overlooking the Solway Firth, close to the Scottish Borders. Set solely over the ground floor, the cottage can sleep four people in a king-size double bedroom, and a family room with a 4’ double and a single bed, both with TVs with Freeview. There is also a family bathroom and a shower room, and an open plan living area with a kitchen, a breakfast bar and a sitting area. Feature French windows showcase the beautiful scenery and lead out on a decked patio with furniture. Steps lead directly down to the shore and there is off road parking for two cars. Solway Cottage is a delightful base for friends, families, and couples exploring Cumbria and the Scotland’s borders, all year round.

The Neighborhood:

With a charter granted in 1262, the traditional Cumbrian market town of Wigton still holds a market each Tuesday in the covered market hall. This lovely town is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, as well as for other activities such as theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. The Lord Melvyn Bragg novel, 'A Time to Dance', featured the town of Thurston, which was based on Wigton and the local area. A lovely base for a holiday exploring Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.
