The Boathouse is a beautiful house right at the river den. The interior is very well taken care of and the facility manager is very helpful and friendly. It was a pleasure staying at The Boathouse.
This was such a fantastic property - it met all of our expectations and so hard to leave! Lovely home with plenty of space for a large group, everything available that we needed. Great instructions, easy check-in, beautiful setting. Can't wait to come back.

Good size but need work - no support from VRBO when we needed it
The property is a good size, 3 parking spaces and has good sized grounds. The entrance road is unlit and has many holes, but it caused us no problems. The river Dee is fast flowing and visible from the house - you cannot walk along the river as there is another property at each side of the house so access is blocked. The sauna is excellent and we used it lots. There is lots of wood for the several real fires, the property was warm with lots of hot water. In general the property is clean, including the fresh bed linen, but one of the bedrooms had collections of dust on the floor. Wifi is very good. Overall we had a pleasant stay and it was a good base for 7 people. We did have an issue with a man arriving and accessing the attached garage, and doing woodwork in the garden for the whole of a day - he did not communicate with us, but we assume it was the owner. We also found that the outside door to the sauna/house did not lock - no one responded to us regarding this so the house was not secured through the whole of our stay. The upstairs balcony is a nice feature, but it was dirty with lots of branches & leaves and no seating - so we could not make use of it. Also, the downstairs porch only has an old picnic bench so no real seating which is a shame. For noting - although it has 5 bedrooms, shower access is only via 2 of the en-suites or in the sauna at the other end of the house. We did have agood stay however we feel we paid a premium price that does no reflect the quality or condition of the house at the time of the visit. Also our security issues (the person accessing the house and the door that did not lock) were not responded to - we booked using VRBO and therefore communicated to them using the chat in the app, and they did not respond.
