Foumartdean Cottage has a wonderful outlook across Yetholm Loch to the Cheviot Hill beyond and offers a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in a peaceful countryside setting. The cottage is set in a gloriously peaceful location on the edge of the old Lochside Estate, just 2 miles from the village of Town Yetholm. Inside, the living and dining room is bright and inviting, with views over the loch that create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. A wonderful oak-beamed fireplace adds warmth and character to the room, while a piano, Smart TV, comfortable sofa and chair make it a perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the area.
On the first floor, the main bedroom has a French Imperial-style double bed along with an additional single bed, as well as a Smart TV, offering flexible sleeping arrangements. The second bedroom contains a double bed and provides a cosy and restful space for guests.
To the back of the cottage there is a fully enclosed garden with a sunny, sheltered seating area where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. From the cottage there is direct access to the paths leading to the loch and the nearby bird hide, making it ideal for walking, nature watching and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
The location also makes a great base for exploring the surrounding Borders countryside. Nearby are the lovely Border towns of Kelso, just 7 miles away, and Jedburgh, around 14 miles away, while Melrose is about 23 miles from the cottage. These attractive towns are well worth exploring, offering many good eating places, art and craft galleries, local food producers and historic attractions including ancient abbeys. There are also many local castles and country houses to visit, along with easy day trips to the Northumbrian Coast, Holy Island and the Farne Islands. Shops and pubs can be found around 2.5 miles away, with additional restaurants, shops and services within 7 miles.
Foumartdean Cottage can also be booked together with Lochside Garden House (S4484), Lochside Stable House (UPK) and Avenel Cottage (UK10920) to accommodate up to 36 guests.
