Begrun Cottage is our dog-friendly, peaceful, ground-level cottage. Ideal for a relaxed escape with plenty of space to breathe. Your private south-facing conservatory looks out over the garden, Eden Water and open fields towards the Cheviot Hills. It’s a gentle, quiet spot for long lunches or simply watching the birds. After exploring the Borders, you can settle in by your wood-burning stove and enjoy the evening glow.
Begrun is perfect for two to four guests. The bedroom can be set up as a twin or king-size, and there’s a double sofa bed in the living room. A travel cot can be added if needed. Dogs are very welcome, and it’s a brilliant cottage for four-legged guests — you can head straight out for walks from the door, and the surrounding countryside is full of peaceful lanes, riverside paths and rolling hills to explore together.
The separate kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven, hob and microwave. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, with plenty of hot water thanks to our biomass boiler. Central heating and a log burner, with a generous supply of homegrown wood, keep you cosy whatever the weather.
There’s fast WiFi, EV charging, a heated drying cupboard and a lockable bike store with tools and a hose for washing your bike — very handy with so many wonderful cycling routes on the doorstep. Parking is beside the cottage with a level paved path leading to the entrance.
Burnbrae Holidays sits just 3 miles from Kelso with its cafés, restaurants and independent shops. Nearby you'll find abbeys, gardens, stately homes, fishing, golf and endless opportunities for walking and cycling through the beautiful Borders countryside.
Prices include heating, electricity, WiFi, bed linen, towels and wood for the stove. You’re welcome to wander our 10 hectares of pasture and riverside. We live on-site and are always happy to help.

I live next door with my family and enjoy helping guests in our 3 peaceful cottages get the most out of their holiday. We have extra equipment you can borrow and I can suggest places to go, cycling and walking routes, stately homes and gardens to visit, depending on what you enjoy doing.
