Mungo’s Well Cottage is one of our 3 peaceful ground-level cottages, perfect for a relaxing Borders break. Your private south-facing conservatory looks out over the garden, Eden Water and rolling fields towards the Cheviot Hills. It’s a lovely spot for unhurried lunches or simply watching the wildlife drift by. After a day out exploring, you can settle in front of your wood-burning stove and unwind in cosy comfort. Walking and cycling routes start right from the cottage.

The cottage is set up for two guests, with a separate, well-equipped kitchen including dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven, hob and microwave. The bedroom can be arranged with either a twin or a king-size bed. Mungo’s Well is pet-free.

There’s a shower over the bath, plenty of hot water from the biomass boiler, central heating, and a log burner with a good supply of homegrown wood. You’ll also have a heated drying cupboard, fast WiFi, EV charging and a lockable bike store with tools and a hose for washing your bike.

There is a level paved path leading from the car park to the entrance, making access easy for guests with mobility difficulties.

Burnbrae Holidays is just 3 miles from Kelso, with its independent shops, cafés and restaurants. Nearby you’ll find historic abbeys, beautiful gardens, stately homes, fishing, golf, riding and endless walking and cycling opportunities.

All prices are for 2 people and include electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, wood for the wood burner, bed linen and towels. Min stay 2 or 3 nights depending upon the season.

Beautiful Kelso Countryside

We want you to know that we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Burnbrae Holidays. It has been peaceful and pleasant in every way. Your facility is inviting, clean, quiet and cozy. Everything from the towels and bath amenities, the wifi and comfortable beds to your eco friendly efforts throughout reflect your hospitality and responsiveness to your guests. We appreciated using the washer and dryer and your thoughtfulness of leaving two scones for us - they were delicious. We will be telling all our travel friends about your fabulous respite.
