About this property
Umbria Genius Loci Farmhouse
THE PLACES: the land Genius Loci is located in the heart of green Umbria, a land of ancient art, industrious artisanship, and historic gastronomy rooted in the civilization of the Etruscans. History and the charming landscape intertwine with the expert touches that distinguish the hospitality of visitors. Just a few kilometers away, Todi, Assisi, Bevagna, Perugia, Spello, Foligno, Orvieto, and Spoleto are within easy reach, and easy and quick access to the Autostrada del Sole and the E45 motorway allows you to visit the most popular tourist destinations in Tuscany and the Marche. Among the countless Umbrian artisanal traditions, from lace to ceramics, from wrought iron to wood, from typography to textiles, from goldsmith art to glass, the villa is located right in the heart of the ancient terracotta production area, also known for the refined cashmere workmanship typical of Ripabianca. It is equidistant from Deruta, Umbria's capital of world-renowned majolica. Throughout the year, countless food and wine events take place as part of seasonal festivals, now historic for their excellent wines and the uniqueness of other exquisite traditional rural products. Umbria also offers a wide array of internationally renowned musical events throughout the year, especially jazz concerts. THE PLACES: The House A hand-carved stone slab welcomes guests at the entrance as a symbol of good luck and depicts the Genius Loci, or "auspicious spirit of place," the deity who, according to the ancient Romans, was linked to a particular place to the point of being its very soul. The villa is a typical Umbrian residence, furnished with highly prestigious materials to offer a stay rich in charm, both for its understated elegance and for the contemplation of the views that can be enjoyed from every corner of the house. The ceramics, terracotta, furniture, wet bar, and the structures, furnishings, and wrought iron ornaments of the house also demonstrate the fusion of local craftsmanship and that of the evocative lands of the Amalfi Coast, where the owners hail. In the simplicity of the rural setting, anyone who lives there is welcome to share its ancient and gentle atmosphere. Throughout the year, the seasons offer intense scents and colors, enhanced by the opportunity to participate in the numerous local festivals and events that promise interesting sensory experiences. The home is spread over two floors, connected internally by a stone staircase. The spacious living area leads to an outdoor patio overlooking the fenced park that surrounds the entire house. Just steps from the entrances, you'll find the saltwater pool with hydromassage, a solarium with shower, a gazebo, and parking. The main entrance leads into the living room, illuminated by large windows. This is part of an open-plan space that also includes the dining room with fireplace, which also connects to the patio, and the kitchen with a French door that opens onto the garden side where the gazebo is located. From the dining room, a small hallway leads to a double bedroom with a divisible bed, a twin bedroom with joinable beds, and two bathrooms with showers. From the dining room, a staircase leads to the first floor, which features a double bedroom with a small balcony overlooking the landscape and an ensuite bathroom with a hydromassage tub and shower. On the ground floor, next to the kitchen French window, is the laundry room, accessible through the garden. In addition to the six beds, an additional single bed is available to accommodate guests' different needs.
