Overlooking the serene Lough Much, this four-bed Georgian fishing lodge, set on 5 acres of land, offers the perfect rural retreat for a family or group of friends. Unwind in the elegant and traditional cottage interiors with country-style decor and period features throughout. You’ll be surrounded by dramatic mountains, lakes and coastline while staying in Connemara where you can fill your time with nature hikes, boat trips, beach days and trout fishing.
Make yourself at home in the tastefully decorated lounge. Antique-style finishings, a bookshelf and an open fire create a welcoming and cosy atmosphere while the sash window allows plenty of natural light to fill the space. Cook a special meal for your loved ones in the simplistic kitchen with tiled flooring and a ‘U’-shaped fitted unit boasting a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Gather for a feast in the dining room, with a wooden table and furnishings, a sash window and tiled flooring. Completing the interior is a family bathroom, a shower room and four bedrooms – a double, a twin room and two single bedrooms. Outside are 5 acres of grounds.
During your stay beside Lough Muck in Salrock, start your day with a stroll around the lake and continue to the larger Lough Fee (0.5 miles), where you can try your hand at trout fishing. Head to the pristine sands of Glassilaun Beach (2.5 miles) for a swim before walking along the scenic coastline. Hop on a boat trip to Inishbofin from Cleggan Pier (18 miles) or check out the Gothic Benedictine Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Garden (8.5 miles).
