About this property

1929 cottage with views of Lygnösjön

Welcome to a charming cottage from 1929, where the spirit of history meets modern comfort. The open floor plan seamlessly connects the living room and kitchen, and the solid wood floors, combined with the stylish Marbodal kitchen, create a warm atmosphere. A small sleeping loft adds extra character, and the modern bathroom is equipped with a washing machine.

Outside, a stone-paved patio awaits with its own garden and green spaces—perfect for morning coffee or evening relaxation. Here you can enjoy the scents of nature and the peaceful view of the surroundings.

The cottage offers beautiful views of Lake Lygnö, and a lovely swimming spot is just a ten-minute walk away. All around, hills covered in deciduous forest and horse pastures stretch out, ideal for hiking, berry picking, or simply embracing the tranquility.

Despite its rural location, it’s close to downtown Alingsås—8.7 km by car. Discover Lights in Alingsås, the Potato Festival, Kaféstaden with its 300-year-old coffeehouse tradition, Nolhaga Park and Castle, farm shops along Route 190, Nääs Fabriker, and Gräfsnäs Castle Park.

We had a wonderful time here. The quiet and idyllic setting was exactly what we were looking for. Since we had a rental car, everything was easily accessible from the lodging, and we were able to get around just fine. The cabin was clean and well-equipped. It was perfectly adequate for two people—though it’s worth noting that the bedroom shown in the photos is in a separate cabin. We used the large sleeper sofa, which worked out well. Overall, a charming and lovely place to stay.

The surroundings around the cabin are very beautiful and lovely; you couldn’t see the lake from the living room as described—you had to go all the way out onto the lawn—but the nature was very beautiful and lovely. We could have used more information about the fact that there would be activity on the property involving vehicles for the horses. The house is also located right next to the road, with vehicles sometimes driving by at speed, which could cause a bit of noise. The windows didn’t have any latches, so you couldn’t open them without them banging shut if there was even a slight breeze. But all in all, a lovely house with a fantastic view.
