The lovely holiday home 'Knøv' is located on a fantastic plot of four hectares of land. The sky is high and there's plenty of nature, peace and quiet and birdsong. The old farmhouse was built in 1782 and has the characteristic seaweed roof that Læsø is known for. The cottage has been completely renovated in recent years, but despite this, the cozy and authentic details have been preserved.
The former stable and barn have been converted into a lovely place. Here you'll still find the feeding trough, water point and high ceilings in most places. Inside, there is a lovely calmness due to the thick roofs. Here you can enjoy the warmth and the crackling of the wood-burning stove in the cold winter or the lovely summer days in nature close to the water. In the former stable there are two rooms sleeping six people and in the main house there are beds for four overnight guests.
The entire house was originally built from timber and wreckage from shipwrecks, as all the forest on the island was used for salt mining in the late 1600s. The islanders used stranded vessels to build the houses. 'Knøv', as the house is called, was built over several generations. Additions have been made as the family grew larger or if they experienced more prosperity. The last one at Knøv was built in 1918 as a stable and is covered with straw. The cottage is divided into two apartments that can be rented together or separately.
Outside, nature is fantastic and the many acres of land are full of adventure. And if you feel like building a fire, you can do just that. The beach is just 900 meters from the cottage, and if you're looking for a grocery store, harbor environment and eateries, head to Østerby, which is just 2.5 kilometers from the cottage. The bus is free, but you have to walk a short kilometer to the junction in Gl. Østerby to get on.
