Our family stayed the week of Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The home is located close to some really good restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.
We spent Christmas at the lovely cabin and it was the best place to be - beautiful view from the house, and the house was impeccably clean and extremely enjoyable. Would definitely come back for another stay when I'm in the area.
My wife and I were blown away at how nice this place was! It way more space than we needed for just the two of us, but we loved everything about it! It made our anniversary celebration special, and we look forward to visiting again!
If I could give this cabin more than 5 stars I would. Less than an hour from every major attraction in western NC. Cabin is immaculately kept and great for families of any size.
The house and surrounding property was breathtaking! We all had a great night sleep in the comfortable beds as well, which is important for a restful vacation. We will definitely be back during the summer!
The property was beautiful, with a creek next to the house. The house was large and had a good aesthetic. The owner responded to texts very quickly, and it seemed to be important to her that we enjoy our stay.
We drove up from Florida to ski and have the kids see snow. This house was magical! Perfect stay for kids. Plenty to do in Maggie valley. 4 nights would be perfect with 1 ski day, 1 snow tubing day, a visit to Cherokee and/or biltmore, and creek side brewery or a winery, we loved it!
We throughly enjoyed our stay in Bear Camp Lodge. The lodge is beautiful and so private. The view was beautiful and the sound of the creek flowing was so relaxing. Wish we could have stayed longer but certainly recommend this lodge if you want privacy, beautiful view and just want to relax. Cherokee is just down the road and Waynesvill is a short distance away. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lodge!!!
We had a nice stay at the lodge. The trees and weather were beautiful. We were surprised and a bit disappointed to find there was no hot tub at the lodge even though it was listed and the owner has not mentioned it had been removed. That would have been a nice feature after long days hiking and with the cooler weather.
I cannot give this listing enough praise!! The location and the property are spectacular! My family had a beautiful vacation, only downside is we wanted more time!! Will definitely stay here again! Host and housekeeper were quick to respond. However many days you plan on visiting you'll need a few extra just to hang out at the lodge!

Relaxing weekend
House is awesome. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed playing checkers, clue and monopoly. Weather was not good, but we still got a chance to ski and tube. The creek is so nice and the view is beautiful.
This property is beautiful, looks just like the pictures. We spent every morning and evening on the screened in porch before heading out for the day. Property is centrally located to lots of trails and scenic drives. As other reviews have mentioned, be prepared for WiFi to be a bit of an issue but nothing major. Property owner is very responsive with all questions we had. Perfect trip!
We loved our stay for My Birthday!
The view was Beautiful! Lived the sound of the creek it was so relaxing. The decor was beautiful!
Anita the owner was amazing.
Before our stay she emailed me with places to eat and things to do. If I had a question she emailed me back within minutes. The kitchen was well stocked. We had a wonderful time.we will be back.
This is one of the cleanest, well furnished cabins that we have ever rented. We rent a cabin ever year and this one pleased everyone in our group. Plenty of sitting areas, games, TV's, comfortable beds and wonderful windows with great views.
The only complaint I had was a smell when you first walk into the cabin. It smelled like cat urine but could have been from the rug on the floor in that room.
This cabin is absolutely beautiful. The picture does this cabin no justice, you have to see it in person. The river next to the house gives it a calm feeling. The sound of the river flowing is so relaxing. We loved that we were roughly 20 mins from Cherokee and Waynesville. We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Also, the owners were very responsive to our messages. Plus, there were instructions on how to use the appliances as well aa the hot tub.
I can’t say enough good things about our stay at the lodge. Upon arrival we were greeted by a beautifully decorated house with absolutely stunning views. The running water and gorgeous views of the mountains was everything i had hoped for. My whole family , ranging from my youngest at 4 to my oldest at 25 absolutely fell in love with the property. Perfect for a vacation getaway. So many things to do and see. Thank you to Anita for her spectacular holiday decorations which set the tone for our family’s time together. I am already looking forward to staying here in the future.
Excellent start to finish. Anita very responsive to questions-very helpful. Check in easy. Home was great for 2 sets of grandparents and 2 small children. Kitchen extremely well furnished. Spacious home with multiple spaces to spread out inside and out. Beautiful views at nice elevation. Only issue is slow internet so come to disengage not work- but Starbucks In nearby waynesville is option if you really need to zoom.
This was the best stay I have ever experienced through VRBO. It was just like being home. From the moment we entered the house, we felt like we were home. The owners thought of everything. From helping us prior to arriving to having everything we needed while there. Even simple things like butter and leftover containers. It was just perfect! I loved it so much I made a video and shared it on Facebook to encourage from friends to stay there as well. I have never done that!
This is an absolutely beautiful property. The owners have put so much thought into what is needed for your stay. They have decorated the lodge with gorgeous pieces. I would suggest that it's probably not as well suited for younger children as it is for the 8 and above age range. We had a 2, 5 and 6 yr old and we were constantly worried that someone would fall into one of the 2 gorgeous fireplaces. However, if your kids aren't rambunctious boys, then go for it! The house is beautiful and spacious. The only downside is cell reception and internet.
We had a great time at this property. Conveniently close to downtown Maggie Valley. Kitchen was well stocked. Internet was a little slow due to being in the mountains but still usable. Cable worked fine. Good communication from property owners. Amazing views! . If you’re planning to use the bunk bed room, know that it is connected to the second King bedroom and does not have a door/it opens into a hallway adjacent to the kitchen. Also, you have to take the trash to the City Dump in Lake Junaluska. If you’re traveling East it’s on your way but if you’re going home to the west factor in extra travel time.
