About this property
Chelsea Charm in Historic London Neighbourhood, with all Mod Cons!
Situated in Draycott Place, a charming period street in Old Chelsea which is steps away from Sloane Square and the King's Road. Walking distance to shops of Knightsbridge and the museums of South Kensington this apartment is owned by an interior designer.
The apartment features one master bedroom with a UK King/USA Queen bed (5' x 6' 8") with an ensuite bathroom with a tub (but no shower). There is a second bathroom with a full walk-in shower (but no tub). A second smaller guest room can be made up with either one or two single beds -- though it is tight with two beds (more suitable for kids to share). And, in a pinch, one can also sleep a fifth person on the living room sofa, the base of which is an upholstered mattress -- think of it as a day bed.
There is a very small patio at the rear which is suitable for die hard smokers, but there is no smoking inside the apartment. As the apartment is 'Lower Ground' there are steep narrow British stairs leading to the front door, so all guests must be agile!
The apartment has three TVs, Blu Ray & DVD multi region system, cable, wireless internet and a cosy dining nook off the living room, with a skylight overhead.
The nearest underground line is Sloane Square, but you are also within walking distance of South Kensington station. I prefer to take the number 19 or 22 bus to the Piccadilly Circus if I am headed to the West End -- ride on the top of the iconic double decker red London bus and get a birds eye view of all London has to offer.

No use of the back patio after 10pm please -- noise carries upstairs to the neighbour's bedroom. Thanks!

Mark was very responsive and the apartment was clean and very central to get around chelsea and all the excursions we had planned. It is a basement unit with some stairs to navigate but laundry access was great and no complaints.
Our family had an excellent stay in Chelsea Charm! Location was very central to all the sights of London, and the neighborhood around was great to end every day exploring. The flat had plenty of space for our family, and was well stocked with coffee, cream, and basic amenities on the bathroom. Mark was super responsive as a host, answering any questions we had within minutes and offering many suggestions for groceries and dinner. We would definitely stay at again if returning to London!
This was a fantastic place to stay in London. The host, Mark, was extremely communicative and helpful. He let us check in early! We had everything we needed in the flat; the kitchen was fully stocked and then some. It's so close to a lot of things, very convenient to groceries, shopping, food, and the tube and busses. But the street itself was very quiet. Good beds and pillows! It's compact, but we'll laid out and our family had no issues with space. We loved our stay and would definitely go back again. Highly recommend.
Our host was incredibly friendly and helpful. The place was perfect in an amazing location. It felt safe and was close to the tube station. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely flat in great location. Light-filled and streamlined interior with plenty of room for 4. Comfy beds, wonderful amenities and outstanding host. Mark went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Great restaurant and pub recommendations. Timely and responsive communication both beforehand and during our stay. While there are steep stairs to the entry, they are manageable by most. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Chelsea Charm is true to its name! The flat was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen for meals, however it was nicely stocked with multiple grocery stores within walking distance. I felt very safe and the neighborhood was charming with plenty of places to eat and drink. We were also conveniently located near public transportation. Having laundry available onsite was also a lifesaver. Mark was one of the best hosts I have rented from and was friendly and truly wanted us to have a great vacation. His responsiveness and attention to detail was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this flat if the stairs leading down to the lower level do not pose a problem for anyone in your travel party. Just a few of the local establishments we enjoyed were the Surprise Pub which was great for dinner and drinks, Vardo was a nice breakfast option, and Great India had delicious food.
Mark, our host, couldn’t have done more to make our stay as perfect as possible. His attention to detail was extraordinary. Everything worked. Directions were exact. Comfort was assured - the apartment was very clean, nicely stocked and there was a feeling of generosity about the stay.
Location was great! We could walk to many restaurants and local grocery! The restaurant within a 2 minute walk Chalk Freehouse was wonderful and the staff was amazing!
A short walk from tube station through a beautiful neighborhood with great shopping and restaurants. The apartment is accessible just down some steep steps but it's worth it bc inside is an oasis of calm, artsy decor, comfortable spaces. Host is easily accessible, attentive details.
Beautiful property! It looks just like the pictures and has everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet, but very close restaurants, shops and public transport. Mark was a great host, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book his property again.
We had a wonderful stay here! The perfect location. We walked to many things but the underground was a quick 5 minute walk if needed. We felt extremely safe the whole time. Mark was kind enough to help us figure out a travel crib for our toddler and was extremely responsive whenever needed.
Everything about out stay was excellent! Location of the flat is ideal. Communication with the host was great! The flat itself was exactly what was described and advertised. Overall our stay exceeded the expectation! Will certainly stay here again if available!
Fabulous place to stay while in London. The flat was clean, decorated so well, very comfortable, close to public transport and quiet. Communication with the host was excellent.
Loved this property and the neighborhood. Underground and bus stop was a 5 minute walk. Two grocery stores (including a well stocked & new Whole Foods) in less than a 5 minute walk.We stayed during Christmastime and the lights and decorations in the neighborhood were very festive & charming. Both times we took a rideshare our driver mentioned this was one of the best neighborhoods and very highly regarded. Our host Mark was extremely responsive. Could not have asked for a better 1st stay in London for our family of 3. Thank you!
Easy check in/out. Mark was an excellent host and provided great recommendations for the neighborhood. The flat itself was very comfortable and in a perfect location. Highly recommend
My wife and I always love this neighborhood as we have stayed in the area on three separate occasions. This trip we brought our kids 18, 20 along with us. This was the perfect place for their first London experience. The host was so welcoming and the check in process was amazing. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting the pulse of the big city only a short walk away, yet the charm of a quiet neighborhood as well.
This was a super spot for spending a few days with our grandson. Everything close by and the house very welcoming and well equipped.

I'm an interior designer based in London for many years but originally from Vancouver, Canada. I appreciate all London has to offer and my apartment in Chelsea is an ideal base close to all the attractions, shopping, restaurants and arts events. I have a wealth of local knowledge so if you have any questions please contact me!
Why they chose this property
I loved the period nature of this property. Looking down the street you can imagine you were in the 1880s. However I extensively (but sympathetically) renovated the interior so that has all the modern amenities one would require.
