The cabin is amazing - cozy and rustic. We hiked the trail down to the river. Beautiful!John was very welcoming and hospitable! We can’t wait to come back!

The cabin, property with trails and the Rockfish River running through property. All were perfection! The cabin is beautiful and spacious. Dog friendly! Cabin was very clean. Plenty of supplies for kitchen and bath. John; our host, was incredible. Prompt response always to any questions I had. He checked in on us through messages on Vrbo. Everything was exactly as described. We were able to grill out one night. Had a bon fire in the firepit after. So relaxing, peaceful and quiet. We will definitely rent this cabin again . Thank you John for everything!

The cabin was the perfect spot for our family. John is an excellent host who responds quickly. The cabin was spotless, kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and the location is so beautiful. The kayaks were a huge bonus. Even though the river was low, we were able to take them out for and explore. Highly recommend!

The cabin is so pretty. Four adults and we were very comfortable. It was perfect for our get together and the area has lots of great wineries, breweries and restaurants. Our host was very punctual in responding to our questions. Check in and check out was very easy.

Great location - easy drive to so many hikes, nearby coffee shops, Charlottesville for dinner, and so very peaceful back at the cabin. Clean house, clear communication, lovely river trails. We've stayed in many cabins through the years, and hope to return to this one.

Our family stayed in the cabin for a long weekend and it was a restful, comfortable stay. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed, and the primary bed was comfortable. The host was very responsive and helpful and made sure we enjoyed our stay. The best part was being right by the river- there’s a great trail that runs alongside which we walked every morning! We would definitely return for another visit.

The host was very responsive to my questions. The cabin is gem. It is next to a river in a secluded area in the woods but we went to several wineries. Or, you can just take a walk down to the river and see deer. We would go back to this cabin in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

Great spot and host

The cabin was clean and in great shape. Had all that we needed to cook breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed a walk around the property and the fire pit out back. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great weekend at John’s cabin. Everything was perfect and exactly what I hoped it would be. My husband told me that he wished we were staying a week. Our dog had so much fun during our short hike down to the river! We plan to come back in May and would definitely consider staying at John’s cabin again!

Amazing!!

John was super great with communication and made staying at the property super easy! It was a fantastic 4th of July trip with our friends! The river is beautiful and perfect for relaxing, the fire pit is fantastic and great for smores, and the cabin is absolutely perfect! I would definitely love to stay here again!

We had a great time at John’s cabin in the woods. Nice walks to the river, firepit fires roasting s’mores, Wood Ridge Farms Brewery less than a mile away is charming and dog friendly! Many local trails nearby to hike. Thanks so much!

Great cabin for 4 adults (plus a little dog). Definitely tucked back in the woods but not far from main road to get around the area. Spacious bedrooms especially upstairs master suite. Very nice kitchen/dining area. Enjoyed time on the deck and had some nice evening fires. We also took a few walks on the trails along the river. Owner was great with communication before, during, and after our stay.

Great Stay By Rockfish River

Cabin is clean, completely functional and simple. Great place to hideaway. The river - a 10min walk, or 2min drive is fantastic - really great for kids to play and adults to hang out. Great way to get off the grid. Host is excellent.
