Ringmore is a picture postcard Devon village with a population of circa 100 and a cluster of mainly thatched houses which nestle around its 13th century church and pub, the aptly named Journey’s End Inn – known for its good food. The church is usually open for quiet prayer and reflection. There is no view from Cottage which is located on the outskirts of Ringmore opposite modern houses but the village is bordered by National Trust land and nestles in beautiful countryside.
St Ann’s Chapel, three miles away has a well-stocked village shop with fresh produce including local milk (return the bottle) and another pub The Pickwick Inn. As an alternative to taking the car, follow signed footpaths which skirt the fields. Devon lanes have no pavements.
Bigbury has a beachside café and fine dining in the iconic 1930s Burgh Island Hotel or pick up traditional fish n’ chips in nearby Challaborough.
Use of the entire cottage but not suitable for those with mobility issues or very young children.
