I have lived in Wiltshire for 30 years and I love the county with the abundance of countryside, great walks and history. We bought the cottage thanks to an inheritance and love hosting guests. With a varied background in hospitality and tourism I hope to offer guests a great stay with everything that you need.
Why they chose this property
Wiltshire has so much to offer visitors. Along with the famous destinations of Stonehenge, Avebury, Marlborough and Lacock, there are also the prehistoric sites of Silbury Hill, Kennet Longbarrow, numerous White Horses chalked in to the hills and the abundance of beautiful villages and country pubs. For the active there are walking trails galore and cycling routes. From Devizes you can follow the Kennet and Avon Canal either by foot or by bike to Bath in one direction or Marlborough and beyond in the other. There are cafes and pubs on route too! Devizes is a traditional market town and has a famous long standing market on a Thursday alongside the Shambles, a daily indoor market. There are independent shops, cafes, bars, bistros and restaurants all within walking distance of the cottage. There is even Devizes Castle!
What makes this property unique
Located in Devizes's Heritage Quarter, Copper Cottage is a Victorian end of terrace built on the land of the original jail dating back to 17th century. The area was converted into a police station in the 19th Century and several of the houses were the original buildings and lodgings. Set off the main road, down a quiet path, the cottage is peaceful and secluded with its own garden and patio. Everything in the cottage is to a high spec with excellent cotton bedding and top quality mattresses to ensure a great night's sleep. The bathroom has underfloor heating, ideal for cooler months, a freestanding feature bath and a walk in shower. Everything in the cottage has been designed to make your stay as cosy and relaxing as possible.
