Casa Rio is set in an authentic and peaceful Portuguese residential neighborhood, while yet within walking distance to the convenient ferry to Lisbon as well as numerous shops, bars and restaurants. Casa Rio is around 15 minutes’ walk to the Lisbon ferry, 10 minutes walk to pretty pedestrian centre and historic Cacilhas, and 15 minutes’ drive to the famous beaches of Costa da Caparica.

Casa Rio accommodates up to 8 guests comfortably (plus 2 more on a sofa bed if necessary) and consists of:

- A beautifully decorated main house

- A large, fully self-contained studio connected via a lockable internal door and with its own entrance

This layout is ideal for extended families, groups of friends, or anyone who wants shared space as well as some privacy and independence.

Bedroom 1 – The Garden Suite
An ensuite bedroom with a double bed, vintage furnishings, private bathroom, and its own sunny balcony.

Bedroom 2 – The River Master
A spacious bedroom with a double bed, beautiful river views, and a river-facing work desk — perfect for remote work with a view.

Bedroom 3 – The River Junior
A cosy room ideal for children, teenagers or close friends. It features two single beds (one pull-out), a second river-facing work desk, and direct access to a private wooden deck with sweeping river views.

Bedroom 2 and Bedroom 3 are connected via a lockable sliding door and share a bathroom. Due to this layout, they are best suited to families or groups who know each other well.

Bedroom 4 – The River Studio
A large, light-filled standalone studio with high ceilings, wall-to-wall windows, dramatic river views, a double bed, its own fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, a dedicated river-facing work desk, and a separate entrance. The studio connects internally to the main house via a lockable door.

The sofa here converts to a comfortable sofa bed that could fit 2 more people (ideally children) as it is a small sofa bed.

Portuguese-style double beds measure approx 140 × 190 cm (smaller than UK/US king beds).

Single beds measure approx 180 cm in length.

Sofa bed is 111 x 188 in length.

All bedrooms are fitted with air conditioning and heating.

* Living, Dining & Outdoor Spaces *

The main house living and dining areas enjoy river views and open directly onto a large terrace. The dining table seats 6 comfortably and up to 8 when extended, and there are plenty of sofas and armchairs for everyone. The pellet burner makes this a wonderful space for cosy evenings year-round.

The River Studio also features an additional living and dining area with a large sofa and dining table for 6, framed by wide windows overlooking the river.

* Kitchen, Laundry & Practicalities *

Both the main house and the studio kitchens are fully equipped for longer stays. A large utility/laundry room adjoins the studio, alongside a garage/storage space ideal for surfboards or other equipment. The house also has its own laundry area.

Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the entire house and studio.

*Parking*

Private parking for one car is available on a sloped drive leading to the River Studio. Please note that this is only for experienced drivers, as the parking is on quite a steep slope. We suggest renting an automatic car as this will be easier.

Alternatively, affordable parking is available all around the house.

Free evenings and Sundays

You may stop briefly outside the house to unload. Please park ONLY in front of number 23 and be mindful of parking wardens.

Other things to note


1. Strictly no parties. Outdoor noise must be kept reasonable at all times due to elderly neighbours on both sides. Noise must be kept to a minimum between 10pm and 8am.

2. Almada Tourist Tax: The municipality charges €2 per guest aged over 12, per night, capped at 5 nights per stay. If Vrbo does not collect this automatically at booking, we will request it separately before arrival.
