Sitting amid a patchwork of green fields, this contemporary residence is perfect for a big-group getaway. Seaside hotspot Polzeath is within striking distance; swim, surf, stroll on golden sands, then refuel at the village’s enticing choice of restaurants and bars. Join the South West Coast Path and walk around the Pentire Headland to catch a glimpse of the local seals and dolphins. On the other side of the headland, the sheltered cove at Port Quin is less than 1.5 miles from your doorstep. Shop for supplies and souvenirs at Port Isaac (5 miles), home of shanty singers Fisherman’s Friends and TV’s fictional Doc Martin. At the heart of the village is the harbour, where local fishermen land their daily catch and, at low tide, large rock pools are revealed. Head 4 miles in the opposite direction to the upmarket village of Rock, and you can catch a ferry across the Camel Estuary to foodie-favourite Padstow.
A long driveway announces your arrival at this striking country retreat. Park, then step through the hallway into an open-plan kitchen and dining room. Sleek cabinets and a complementary dining suite are pleasing to the eye, while a hot tub on the other side of one set of French doors is a real scene-stealer. Holiday laundry can be kept out of sight in the utility room. For home-style movie nights, the ground-floor TV room has a huge corner sofa and a Smart TV. On the other side of the hallway is a spacious family bathroom and the first of your four bedrooms: a dreamy king-size, which has Jack and Jill-style access to the bathroom and also leads directly into a fun children’s bedroom featuring triple bunk beds. A second sitting room is on the first floor. Featuring dual-aspect windows framing far-reaching views, the room offers comfortable seating is arranged before a Smart TV and wood burner, making this the perfect social setting in any season. On either side of this sitting room, two king-size bedrooms – one of them with its own en-suite shower room – each have splendid views too.
A hedge-lined lawn runs the length of the gated driveway to the front of the property, creating plenty of space for children and pets to let off steam. At the rear, the patio garden has outdoor dining furniture, a BBQ, a pizza oven and a handy shower, plus for the ultimate in laid-back luxury – a hot tub.
