Pop to the local pub (150 metres) before setting out on foot along a pleasant footpath to the nearby village of Luston (1.5 miles). Keen walkers will appreciate the wealth of routes crossing the surrounding countryside, including the Shropshire Way. Visit National Trust sites like Berrington Hall (5.5 miles) and Croft Castle (5 miles), or enjoy the peace of Bircher Common and Mortimer Forest (perfect for walking) is adjacent to Richards Castle (1.5miles). Leominster (5 miles) has antique and curiosity shops to discover or spend a day in the cathedral city of Hereford (20 miles). You’ll also have mountain bike trails, kayaking opportunities on the River Wye, high ropes courses, paintballing and quad trekking available within 4.5 miles. Venture a bit further out and explore Stokesay Castle (11 miles) or the National Trust site at Carding Mill Valley on the long Mynd (20 miles).


After arriving via a narrow country lane, you’ll access the cottage from the rear, either through the conservatory or a side entrance. Small but perfectly formed, the property is a cosy and comfortable retreat. The conservatory is flooded with natural light – a great spot for dining, reading or unwinding while taking in views across the garden. From here, step into the cottage-style kitchen, where you can prep holiday meals. The cosy lounge has dual-aspect windows and creates a warm and homely atmosphere, with comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner for chilly evenings. Completing the ground floor is a bathroom with a three-quarter-size bath with a shower over and a WC. Head upstairs to the two bedrooms: a double that overlooks the garden and a second compact double. Due to the bed position against the wall, the second bedroom is best suited to a single guest.


Outside, make the most of the fully enclosed cottage garden, which has a furnished terrace for sitting with morning coffee or an evening drink after a day spent exploring. Dogs will also love exploring this enclosed space. Private parking for two medium cars is available to the rear of the cottage.
