24 Mill Street is the perfect Ludlow holiday cottage. A charming Grade II listed cottage in the centre of historic Ludlow. Described by John Betjeman as "the loveliest town in England" and by Country Life as "the most vibrant small town in the Country", Ludlow is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful south Shropshire countryside. The town is renowned for its food and there are plenty of specialist shops and galleries close at hand (butchers, bakers, a delicatessen, farmers market, a cheese shop, a chocolate shop, wine merchant, bookshops, vintage clothing, antiques, potteries, designer clothes etc) and there are markets in Castle Square on most days. This house is absolutely ideal for a stay in Ludlow. Its close to the castle, the market, the river and lots of lovely pubs. The house itself has everything that you could possibly need and is incredibly comfortable. Raymond was a perfect host too and so helpful and thoughtful. All in all, it was perfect and we'd love to go back one day.
incredibly comfortable.
Everything about 24 Mill Street was perfect. The generous welcome basket on arrival, the property was warm and welcoming, brilliant communication, easy check in, a quiet setting within just a couple of minutes’ walk into the centre of town, a comfy bed and the property is beautifully furnished and well-equipped. A lovely experience all round. Thank you.
The house was spotless, a credit to the cleaner. The location is an easy stroll to the castle, market place with it's many shops, and restaurants. I can recommend the Blue Boar, French Pantry and the Angel. We are grateful for the parking permit and were lucky enough to park outside the house. There are plenty of walks from the house, the only day our car moved was when we drove to the spectacular Carding Mills were we clambered up to the waterfall and reservoir. Lots of buzzards and red kites around which was the icing on the cake. Thank you Raymond.

Unique, quirky property
If you like to stay somewhere a little different this is the place. Quirky old building with tasteful, comfortable furnishings and everything you need for a long or short stay. If you like art or books there are plenty to peruse.
Beware if you are not good with wonky stairs especially as the bathroom is on the second floor! Parking also a pain (not the house's fault) but £10 a week parking in open air carpark about 10-15 min walk away. Ludlow town centre a few minutes walk away yet the house is at the bottom end of a peaceful street. Will definitely be coming back.

Thank you. All the holiday cottage owners are putting pressure on the County Council to make it cheaper for guests to park in the centre of Ludlow so things may improve in that respect. As Annette says although 24 Mill Street is a charming property the stairs are 18th Century and steeper than modern stairs so the house is not really suitable for the over 75's or those with disabilities.
This is the most perfectly placed little palace, immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and designed, and perfect for a Ludlow stay. Comfy and homely, with an unexpected addition of a lovely welcome basket of goodies. Loads of fab books which I wish we had time to read! We had the best week, and will definitely book here again. We even managed to sit outside in the courtyard garden with a bottle of wine in the late September sunshine. Highly recommended, 5 star!
My husband and I enjoyed our week in Ludlow. The house is perfectly situated to stroll around the town and close to all the restaurants, and we were always able to park right outside. The house had everything needed for our visit and is very charmingly decorated and comfortable. The stairs are pretty steep and would be a challenge for small kids or anyone not too fit, although we managed them OK.
It was a very interesting place to stay with plenty of books to browse through. All areas were comfortable and we found if easy to relax. The outside garden area needs tidying to make a little more room to sit.
We loved this house. Old, quirky and very thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed ... multi-temperature kettle? Check. USB charger point? Check. Friendly neighbours? Check. And just a few minutes walk into the centre of Ludlow with its many interesting shops and market. The owner arranged a parking permit and we could find a space almost right outside most days. I think we'll be back!
The location of the property was ideal for exploring Ludlow itself, restaurants in the evening and country walks from the property. The car park space was an added bonus. Very well appointed with everything thought of and welcome basket on arrival. Just be aware of the narrow twisty stairs if any mobility problems. If planning to eat out, make sure you book in good time as many restaurants were fully booked, perhaps as more people taking a staycation. We loved Ludlow and the area and would recommend 24 Mill St.
Wonderful location. Right in town but quiet street. Always able to park right outside. Owner sorts free digital permit. Comfy bed. Cute bathroom. Comfy lounge. All kitchen utensils and more. Tiny but nice sun trap courtyard. Would highly recommend. Welcome hamper a nice treat.
Excellent communication from Raymond throughout the process. A really delightful property in central Ludlow, full of character and history. Very comfortable accommodation. Parking at front of property included. Would highly recommend!
As before a charming and cosy cottage. A perfect base for a relaxing week in Ludlow and surrounding area. When we did not feel like eating out we had everything we needed for a quiet night in. Having said that Ludlow offers some great places to eat. I am sure we will be back.
This is a beautifully furnished three story town house. It is on a quiet street but very central to the main shopping area and the market. It is very comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay.
Very well equipped with everything you will need. Love the books, maps etc..great welcome basket, very clean, just beware of those quirky stairs! Ideal situation for town.

Delightful property.
The house though small was perfectly formed. Lots of lovely touches making it a real home from home. The location suited us perfectly.
