About this property
4 Bed in Leyburn (oc-g0008)
Close to the quaint hamlet of Horsehouse in beautiful Coverdale , Arundel Grange sits majestically in it's elevated, rural setting, offering guests country walks and tranquility, surrounded by nature. This traditional stone farmhouse with wonderful views provides the perfect getaway for escaping a hectic pace of life. Keen ramblers and dog owners alike will find plenty of walks from the doorstep, with two pubs within walking distance, one just half a mile away. For those wanting to go further afield, the surrounding area offers a variety of historic landmarks, market towns and picturesque villages with independent shops, cosy pubs and tea rooms.
Inside you'll find a wealth of original period features from the stone staircase, wonderful fireplaces and gorgeous flagstone floors. The entire ground floor benefits from underfloor heating, combining rustic charm and modern comfort. The lounge lies at the heart of this home, with a woodburner, exposed wooden beams and a large south facing window flooding it with light! Adjacent is the cosy snug. Here you'll find a large fireplace with woodburner, comfy furniture, a large smart TV with collection of DVDs and boardgames. The dining room has a large farmhouse table, with enough space for all to enjoy sociable meals. As you would expect from a farmhouse of this size, the kitchen is delightful; white-washed walls make it feel light and airy, whilst all the mod-cons bring it into the 21st century. A stable door allows you to admire the breathtaking views whilst you prepare hearty food. Upstairs you'll find four bedrooms, two of which are ensuite. The large, king size master bedroom with ensuite boasts a luxurious roll-top top bath. There is one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms, one of which has a modern ensuite with the other two bedrooms sharing a lovely light family bathroom. All four bedrooms are simply furnished, with charming exposed floorboards, rugs and amazing views.
Across the yard is the barn which offers a rustic upper floor room with pool/table tennis table. Beneath, a washing machine and tumble dryer are available to guests, as well as garage area to store bikes. Arundel Grange sits in an acre of land, bordering a stream and ancient woodland. Guests are welcome to enjoy a campfire in the stone fire pit and the informal outside seating at the house.
