About this property

4 Bed in Corfe Castle (oc-ic126)

Corfe Castle nestles in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck with perfect access to wonderful walks to the fantastic Jurassic Coast and along the beautiful downs. The picturesque village of Corfe Castle is renowned for its excellent restaurants, tea shops, old fashioned public houses, superb bakers and general stores. The glorious sandy beach of the small resort of Swanage is within easy driving distance, or you could make the journey via steam train. This is a wonderful walking area and you can walk directly from the house to join a network of footpaths which extend westwards towards Kimmeridge and Lulworth or eastwards to Studland, a pretty resort with miles of sandy beaches and dunes.

On entering this substantial and attractive Grade II listed stone cottage, which retains original features including beamed ceilings and flagstone floors, you will find yourself in the delightful and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen. With plenty of comfy seating, a wood burner and a TV, the light and airy lounge is an ideal space for relaxing in. You will also find a beautiful panelled dining room with a lovely inglenook fireplace. Moving into the stylishly designed kitchen you will find it fully equipped with an AGA style oven, combi microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge and wine cooler. A washing machine, tumble dryer and large freezer are available in the pretty stone cottage in the garden. Exploring the cottage further you will find a lovely second lounge, with seating, a traditional wood burner, TV and a door opening onto the terrace. There’s also a light and attractive office-style area, ideal for anyone who needs to work during their holiday, with desks, a printer, photocopier, phone, monitor and Xbox. There is also a shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. Heading up to the first floor you will find three of the four charming bedrooms which all enjoy lovely open garden views. There is a master bedroom with a king-size bed and TV, as well as an integral bath built into a pretty window recess with views of the castle and nearby hills. You will also find a second king-size double bedroom and a pretty double bedroom. A folding bed is also available to enable a child to sleep separately in one of the double bedrooms, which is available at an additional cost of £50 (to be requested at time of booking). There is also a bathroom complete with a hand-held shower, bath and WC. A short, fairly steep winding cottage style staircase leads up to the second floor where you will find a lovely twin bedroom. The cottage also offers a powerful telescope which is ideal for enjoying views of the night skies.

Stepping outside you will find a beautiful large country garden at the rear of the property. This delightful garden is fenced and has a lovely protected terrace with garden furniture and a BBQ so you can relax and enjoy meals in the sunshine. There are large lawns and colourful shrubberies, and there’s also a pretty one-room garden cottage with utility items. You will also find a small covered fish pond, and can also enjoy views of the castle. Two gateways open from the garden. One leads onto an open grassland area with a footpath crossing the common to give easy access to the countryside on the outskirts of the village, and in the other direction giving easy access to the nearby village square.
