Hiller’s Pine Haven, Cottage #11 is perfectly appointed to welcome guests to a home away from home experience in the Northwoods. The cottage’s new remodel features a killer pine breakfast counter, Hickory cabinets, wood flooring, a new bath, knotty pine vaulted ceilings, and knotty pine walls throughout.

Walk into the open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen that overlooks Little Saint Germain Lake. Large windows throughout the cabin cast a warm glow on the new wood features and comfortable furniture. New bedroom furniture and mattresses help end your vacation day in comfort and style. Bedroom one features two twin bunkbeds with classic wood frames, bedroom two is considered the owner’s suite with a beautiful queen bed.

Short getaway

Cabin was very nice, clean, and spacious. Front desk girl was very sweet and did her best to accommodate us with oars and paddles. Docks are in need of repair ..shaky and loose board. Only a row boat on site but no one knew who it truly belonged to and oars did not fit it. This was a big bummer!

Okay place

The pictures of the property were somewhat accurate, except the bedrooms. The living room and dining area and kitchen were nice. The back patio and having a car port was nice. The fire pit outside was bit close to the other house. The pier outlet didn’t work for charging our boat. The master bedroom literally was wall to wall bed, hardly any room to walk around it. The box spring of the master queen made awful squeaking even when putting a bag on it and we ended up removing it and just sleeping on the very firm (too firm) bed. The other room had two sets of bunk beds that were too large for the room as well. The listing says it was newly remodeled, however the floors were slanted all different ways and the bedroom doors had gaps due to not being plum. The bathroom floor is spongy in several places but the shower head had nice pressure and worked well. It was hot a few days and we didn’t realize until the house got to be 78degrees that there was no Air conditioning either.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I work construction. I went to Hillers to have a nice quiet memorial day weekend getaway. I wanted to get away from all the noise. The private home next to us was having outside work done to it all weekend. As late as 10pm. There was a skid steer and all kind of loud power tools. It got to the point where we had to watch TV inside because it was too loud outside. Absolute waste of a vacation. If Hiller would have mentioned this to me anywhere on our rental agreement then I would have went somewhere else

First, the cabin was in excellent condition & had many upgrades since the prior year - new bedroom furniture,couch, kitchen dishes,pans, & utensils. Thank you,!!! We also appreciate that the electricity has been upgraded. The cabin was very clean, although I did find an empty beer can in the living room near the wooden rocker. I didn’t notice anything else that was out of order.If you are looking to do additional improvements, it would be really helpful to have grab bars near tub in bathroom & by inside back door - it is awkward to get into the cabin, especially if you have some physical limitations. And, I wish the screen door, especially to the porch would be replaced - we come in the fall & always hoe that no critters sneak in when we have the main door open - see holes at bottom of screen door.The view is great - we sit on the deck & watch the boats for hours. I noticed that the last outdoor furniture had been rearranged - much improved.This is a perfect location for access to the bike trail.We hope to return next year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 1 of 11 fishing cabins on the Little St Germain Lake. They are located about a five minute walk from downtown St Germain. Cabins are rustic but clean, overlooking the water, complete with indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The website offers access to a swimming beach, common activity areas, use of kayaks, canoes, and each cabin comes with a row boat. They also offer opportunities to upgrade with motorized boat rentals. What we found was a charming resort that needs a little more love from management. The office staff told us they didn't think the row boats, kayaks, and canoes were available anymore and didn't realize they were in the offerings on their website. There was one row boat available for all eleven cabins, 2 canoes, and 4 well used kayaks. First come, first served. Fortunately the resort was not full and it all worked out. We also saw concerning signs of a lack of maintenance. Several of the common areas and cabin lots had electrical wiring sticking out of the ground, and taped with electrical tape. Not a good image. It's a lovely property in a great location that just needs a bit more love and TLC from ownership and management.

My husband rode the entire trail over 4 days & several parts were repeated - about 24 miles/day. I also like the location because a grocery store is located within a mile & there are restaurants too.The cabin was immaculate. We appreciate that we had no concerns during these COVID times. The dining room & living room both look over the lake with an unobstructed view - very nice. I also appreciate that the Hiller staff did a thorough clean-up of the grounds while we were there, including the cabin deck, etc. The deck was very nice too.There were a few things that needed improvement:-both screen doors had issues. The main screen door had a busted out screen, so you couldn't use the screen portion of the door. For the deck door, it didn't fit the frame & had a large gap between frame & door when closed, but the screen portion was intact. We were there post-mosquito season so this was less of a problem than if we had been there in the middle of the electricity was not working in the living area when we arrived. I didn't find the number to call until the next morning. Someone was there within an hour - a blown circuit. After that no issues.- it would be good to have matches or lighter near fireplace.Thank you for a very nice holiday - this is our second year of staying at the resort & we intend to return.

Our cabin was clean and adequately stocked with essentials. Having a queen bed was nice, but the bedroom itself was quite small. Nice upgrades to kitchen and bath. The remainder of the cottage shows its' age. Overall we had a great week on the water, despite heavy boat traffic all week due to highly developed shoreline. Also, boat launch options were challenging for larger fishing boats. Beautiful sunrises, wildlife everywhere, fishing, cookouts, and campfires made for a great vacation!

Hiller Pine Haven stay

Right on the water! Beautiful location. Close to some restaurants and bars. Walking path nearby. No volleyball court as seen in the photo but property was nice and we were able to canoe and kayak. We enjoyed our stay and liked being close to Minocqua without staying there!

The brochure given at the event was for a property and lodging completely different than where we stayed. Our cabin was very clean (good job! to the workers), but it was a small, dumpy, crooked cabin compared to the brochure. Therefore, the property management's professionalism would get a zero star rating if I could. Plus, when I walked into the office our first day, it's a tiny little cabin. There were workers right there! No one was there besides the 3 of us, and no one said a word to me. I had to say "Hello, we have a reservation." And the lazy woman right next to me never looked up from her computer and let the other lady take care of it. She was great, but I had to pull it out of her. Not a good start, but we're fun people and made the most of it. We laughed our way through it, and said "never again".

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented 3 adjacent cabins for our family get together. The only glitch was that the bedroom photos in the website did not match the actual cabins. The actual cabins had beds that were much preferable to what was in the photos. We had a great time. The cabins were clean, the entire resort was very family friendly, and the amenities were just what we wanted: kayaks, canoes, a floating swimming raft, roped in swimming area, fishing docks and boats, sandy area with lounge chairs by the water with both gradual and step access to the water, a grassy recreation area for outdoor games, and a play structure for kids.
