We had an amazing stay enjoying the peace of the lake and the mountains. The host was fabulous and always available. We truly enjoyed our welcome gift!
A great place to stay! Minutes to Blue Ridge where we rode the train and shopped and not too far to the Georgia Mnt.Fairgrounds where we took in the Montgomery brothers concert. We had a wonderfully weekend!
This cabin was everything that was advertised! We love it and the views it offered. The owner communicated with us and was very receptive and responsive when we needed to ask a question.
Highly recommend this cabin!
We enjoyed our stay here very much. We were able to sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful setting this cabin is located in. We were also able to take in the fun that Blue Ridge has to offer and some of the surrounding area. We really enjoyed it

My wife and I spent the week here for our 18th anniversary and loved every moment. The views were awesome from both the porch and the dining area. Loved waking up and having breakfast looking out over the lake! Sheena is such a great host. Everything we needed was there. Would love to stay again!!!

Wonderful, quiet location
If you're looking for a for a quick getaway from ATL this is it. The home was clean and well taken care of not too far from Blue Ridge. In a good location to make you feel as you're the only one on the lake (in the winter, can't speak for summer). Had a wonderful time, Sheena thank you!

This cabin will not disappoint! It was very comfortable and had every thing we needed for our get away in the mountains. We really enjoyed the views of the lake off the back deck. It was very private and quiet there. We loved going down to the lake and had a lot of fun canoeing, fishing off of the dock, and watching all of the wildlife. Absolutely perfect!

Absolutely perfect!
We only had three short days disappointed we could not stay longer. A bottle of cider and a welcome card greeted us when we arrived and set the tone for a relaxing few days. Beautiful, quiet, and comfortable with all of the comforts of home plus some.

We enjoyed our trip and it was everything we wished for - peaceful and quiet with everything needed. The only downsize is the road up and down from the cabin but it was worth it.

Thanks for being such wonderful guests! I’m so grateful to know you both had such a wonderful stay!!! The mountainous roads definitely take some time getting used to - but the views and surrounding serenity is always worth the adventure! Thank you again for taking such great care of Lake Hideaway! I hope to have y’all back again in the future! God Bless!
The cabin was everything that it was advertised to be. It was clean, bright, and stocked with everything that you need. Sitting at the kitchen table, watching the sunrise over the mountains and the lake was stunning. I loved sitting on the porch at night listening to all the crickets. It was close enough to everything but just far enough away from it all.
Cabin was beautiful but the drive to the cabin was difficult. The road was one lane yet two-way traffic on a steep incline. The kayak was full of mud and the canoe was tied up on such a steep slope that we couldn't launch it. We chose this cabin because we wanted to do some paddling.

Exceeded expectations
My mom, sister, daughter and I came here for our first 'girl's weekend', and this beautiful cabin exceeded all our expectations! Our worries melted away in the calm and cozy interior with the beautiful view. It is modestly and thoughtfully appointed, with many 'extras' like fishing gear, Bluetooth speakers, and cozy blankets. We played charades, told stories, cooked together (there were even an array of spices in the cabinet!), explored Blue Ridge, and made memories we'll be talking about for years. Thank you, Sheena, for creating (and sharing) the perfect getaway!

Be careful
You should know the path to the lake is very steep and long. If you arent going to the lake, the cabin and view is nice. Also the road up the mountain is narrow and steep. We left after 1 night instead of 5. Will not return.
We had a very nice 2 night stay! the house was perfectly advertised. Saw some deer but unfortunately no fish. We did have a nice time canoeing around the lake though.
The only negative was all the tree trimming going on next door. Basically the entire evening that we arrived and all of the only full day we had there. Bad timing on our part I guess.

Thanks for the feedback Tom! I’m glad to hear y’all had a nice stay even though very short and the unfortunate bad timing considering the tree trimming in the area - it always seems to get busy with everyone maintaining their properties in the late spring... Thanks for taking great care of Lake Hideaway - I would love to have y ’all back as guests anytime!
First time staying at a cabin. I did not know what to expect so I decided to bring everything I thought I would need. What a waste of my time, this cabin has everything you can possibly need and more. I’m a clean freak I even brought Clorox to clean my bathroom but hey...this place is immaculate when it comes to cleanness. This views are beautiful. My girls enjoyed the place. Will come back again...just with my hubby next time lol.

I’m so grateful to have you all as guests and to know you loved the cabin life! I look forward to having you and the hubby back as guests in the future!
We finally stayed at a cabin in the mountains like we had been wanting for a while and it did not disappoint. The view from the porch and dining room was breathtaking. The cabin was nice and spacious, and beautifully decorated. Also had all the basics in the kitchen where we made breakfast and dinner everyday. The trip up to the cabin is a bit difficult for those who have never driven up a mountain with narrow roads so I definitely recommend to get there before it gets dark. Also I wouldn’t make plans to go fishing or going to the dock unless you have experience hiking down difficult terrain because the slope to go down to the dock is very very steep. We really enjoyed our trip to this beautiful cabin and would definitely come back again. Also I would recommend it to any couple or family that would like a quiet retreat away from the city.
The property was great for a small getaway. All your amenities were stocked , along with board games, movies and video games. You are in close proximity of Blue Ridge and Ellijay if you want to spend the day in either. The cabin is really tucked away and very quiet. You do have a small hike down to the boat dock but it’s nothing that you can’t handle. The only thing I would suggest is changing the mattress in the master bedroom because it is a little hard along with the pillows. I would also add some shades in the kitchen to the side windows . Other than that the cabin was wonderful. I would definitely book again. The owner is very hospitable and communicative . I appreciate the card and peach cider! Oh and be prepared for the narrow road leading to cabin.

Immaculate and it felt like "home".
I read the previous reviews before I chose the Lake Hideaway and after staying, I have to agree that this home is wonderful! Very neat, clean, fresh and welcomng. From the initial email to checking out, Sheena was everything and more than I could imagine. The home was pristine, beautifully decorated and stocked with all of the things you need to be very comfortable. Her attention to details is amazing, from the videos to the rolled towels in the bedroom to the "home" phone for use. The personal note and bottle of local cidar upon entry ... the kitchen has ample dishes, cookware and EVERY spice necessary to cook any cuisine. There is a path down to the lake. On the porch there are branches akin to hiking poles that we used as such. Be sure and read the book on the sofa table upon arrival. The info there will answer any questions about the home and things to do in the area. The peace of the surroundings and the beauty of the lake is so serene. I am happy to add my comments here in saying this home is a shining example of excellence and Sheena is a most gracious host. We hope to return again in the future.

A little slice of heaven.
We stayed at Lake Hideaway for six days. Our hostess thought of everything. My husband and I have been visiting the Cherry Log area since 2008 and have stayed in many cabins. All of them very nice as well, but Lake Hideaway was so inviting and comfortable that we settled in easily. I can only describe the environment as that of a personal spa. So wonderful. So cozy. So charming. There’s a cozy little lake, where we hiked down to and sat on the dock and soaked in the wildlife. We didn’t swim or boat, as our weather wasn’t cooperating, but we didn’t care. We hiked up the drive and part of the mountain which was really secluded and serene. She has walking sticks for hiking. One morning while doing dishes, I watched a deer pass by below. The lake is full of turtles and the hummingbird feeder on the porch was daily viewing for me. Sitting on the porch rocking in the chair sipping on some wine. She also leaves a complimentary bottle of cider for you. So sweet and very good. Very cool.
She provides WiFi and satellite T.V., plenty of DVD’s, games and PS4 set up too. Previous people even have movies and shows recorded and saved in the Direct TV list.
We grilled on the gas grill and ate our meals looking out over Lake Allen. Take the time to travel to the Ocoee River and also the Ocoee lake, in Tennessee, we go there every time we visit. Gorgeous and fun. Stop at Mercers Orchard, that’s a must. They have a hard cider area and select wines as well, not to mention the store and restaurant. You can spend an entire day there. We spent time in both Ellijay and Blue Ridge twice. We ate in Blue Ridge at the “Blue Ridge Brewing Company” great burgers. In closing, we will return next year, except during the change of season, as I can imagine this place is spectacular. My personal favorite moment of down time, was the jacuzzi tub with the picture window as a view. I have a bad knee and so this time to soak off the daily excursions was heaven. She has candles and bath salts and oils for the experience. Thank you Lake Hideaway, our much needed hiatus was complete. Simply fabulous. Thank you again to our very gracious hostess. Well done, you. :-)

Thank you and your husband for being apart of my dream come true! I live to share moments like this with great people like you both! I look forward to having y’all back in the Fall! Don’t forget to send me some more pictures : )
My youngest adult son and I spent a few nights at this rental. Gorgeous lake view. We only got to fish for a short time due to a major cold front but still so serene and beautiful. The cabin has a wood burning fireplace which is rare these days and we spent most of our time in the cabin around the fire. Overall a fun and relaxing time and Sheena is top notch with communication. We even had a welcome large bottle of apple cider and a very nice hand written card.
You will not lack anything when you stay here- the peacefulness, being totally relaxed and calm surroundings. If you need a place to celebrate with your partner/spouse, do some soul searching or just get away from the busy lives that we live- It’s perfect!! The owners were responsive to every text and email. They have everything you need to not have to go anywhere besides getting the groceries. You will fall in love with this place😊
beautiful and quite place to rest and enjoy nature with the family

I'm a Professional Interior Designer, Dental Hygienist, and the owner of Glory Living Design, a business founded on my faith and a vision God placed on my heart to serve others through design and hospitality. My passion for hospitality began long before my career. I grew up in Southeast Texas, where Southern hospitality, welcoming others, and taking pride in the little details were simply a way of life.
I believe thoughtful design isn't just about how a place looks—it's about how it makes people feel. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the curated furnishings and quality white linens to the carefully selected amenities and personal touches throughout the cabin. My goal is to create spaces that feel warm, comfortable, and welcoming, where guests can relax, reconnect, and truly feel at home.
Having welcomed guests for nearly a decade, it has been a privilege to host families, couples, and friends from around the world. My mission is to create more than beautiful places to stay—I strive to create spaces that reflect God's beauty through thoughtful design, genuine hospitality, and the peace found in His creation. My greatest hope is that every guest leaves with lasting memories, meaningful connections, and a place they look forward to returning to year after year, where Lake Hideaway truly feels like home.
Why they chose this property
Coming from the flat landscapes of Southeast Texas, I was immediately captivated by the beauty of the North Georgia mountains. Surrounded by God's incredible creation, I found a deep sense of peace and comfort here. It felt as though I was wrapped in His creation, and that feeling became part of the vision behind Glory Living.
I fell in love with this area because it offers the perfect balance of peaceful mountain living and outdoor adventure. Tucked away among the trees, the private lake provides a quiet place to fish, paddle, watch wildlife, or simply enjoy the scenery from one of the covered porches.
At the same time, you're only a short drive from hiking trails, wineries, charming mountain towns, local shops, restaurants, and seasonal festivals. Whether you spend your days exploring or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of the mountains, I hope your time here leaves you feeling refreshed and inspired.
What makes this property unique
Lake Hideaway combines rustic mountain charm with an elevated hospitality experience. Professionally designed by Glory Living Design, the cabin features curated furnishings, quality white linens, premium LAFCO bath amenities, and thoughtful details that create a warm, comfortable, and inviting retreat.

Inside, soaring vaulted ceilings, an oversized stone fireplace, and a relaxing jetted tub create a cozy setting for every season. Whether you’re enjoying morning coffee on the porch, paddling across the lake, fishing from the dock, or gathering by the fire, every space has been intentionally designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the beauty of the North Georgia mountains.
