Beautiful oceanfront home with large backyard and private pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Whelks is located on Jekyll Island, Ga. This home sleeps sixteen in beds and also has four full bathrooms. There is a large living/dining/kitchen area with plenty of room for family and entertaining. There is a patio area in the rear of the house with plenty of seating for the entire family. This area is good for cooking, relaxing, catching up on your reading, afternoon cocktails, watching the children play or simply just relaxing and listening to the waves. As of 2019 enjoy your private heated ocean front pool. Whelks Landing is sure to be a favorite destination for your family for years to come.

Amazing location! HUGE. 100% recommend but a family get away. Very calmingWe hauled our cross from home to take family pictures in front of! No damage to property, it has a base it sits on!

Our New Favorite Jekyll Island House

We met a bunch of family here for a long weekend, and it was really the perfect house for a big group. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked, the huge gathering space was great for everyone to hang out, the heated pool was perfect for chilly evenings, and the location right at a walkway made getting to the beach easy. Overall perfect experience!

Wonderful Experience

This was our 2nd mother/daughter group trip to Jekyll. The house, pool, location, amenities and the island was such a great experience!! We look forward to visiting again!

Perfect Whole Family Vacation Hoouse.

Perfect location, scenery, spacious comfortable, accommodating house for all of us, 2 months to 67 years. Nice yard, pool, grill, on beach…. couldn’t have pick a better place! Looking forward to next visit!

Great for large group

Great house for several families. Kitchen is well stocked and plenty of extra linens. Location was great! Should be noted though at high tide there is no beach. But Pool was a great hit!

Beach stay

The size of the home was great for our group and the location was great. I would rent this again, however I would like to point out that an umbrella for the patio would be nice for what we paid and the internet was spotty particularly in the afternoon. This was a problem for a remote working professional in our family.

Beautiful setting

The property was very nice. Management team worked hard to make sure backyard was cleaned up which it was once we checked in everything was great. Only negatives were the bath towels were very small and old. One of the AC units struggle to keep up with the temperature. A few of the breakers would pop off from time to time. Would definitely stay here again though room spaces were great. Backyard is amazing.

Great location and house

House is great. Big enough for the number of people we had. The parking is a little tight if you have several members driving in. We found everything very clean and ready for us to be there. The beds could sturdier frames as they are very noisy. Also we could not find the extra toilet paper so we had to make a light night run to get some. The pool was great and the beach great also.

Relaxing vacation spot

We really enjoyed Jekyll and this house was really comfortable for our family. We didn’t realize high tide leaves you without a beach for much of the day, but having the ocean in the backyard was wonderful. Our daughter had fun in the pool, but it was much smaller than we expected. Families with multiple kids who plan to spend a lot of time in the pool might find it too small. The house however was plenty big. Plenty of interesting things to do and explore on the island.

Family vaca

This house was spacious & split well for our group of 16. The pool was perfect entertainment for the kids & warm as requested. The sun room was nice extra space for puzzles/games & for those who needed to get laptop work done away from the noise. There were enough towels & dishes although we brought extra dish towels & kitchen favorites to use. Bring bug spray because the no-see-ums were active during our stay in mid November. I’d recommend this place to others! Thanks for opening it to guests.

Misled by Oceanfront listing

Although the home is oceanfront, to gain beach access you must climb over a 6 foot barricade of rocks. The home itself was tastefully decorates and conveniently located near the bike path as well as restaurants and shops. The home obviously has add ons and you must go through the master bedroom to reach two other bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry room. The family area is large and inviting. The open floor plan is conducive to shared family time. The kitchen was well equipped and we were happy to find a second refrigerator available for our use in the hall closet. We would definitely enjoy staying there again, especially if the beach access was rebuilt.

We had a wonderful family vacation at this Jekyll Island property! While the house is a bit dated, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location can’t be beat—right on the ocean with incredible views and a fantastic pool that our family really enjoyed. The management team was responsive and helpful, quickly addressing any questions or concerns we had. Thank you for a great experience!

Family vacation

Excellent location, nice backyard and pool. The size of the house was what our family needed. The house needed a deep cleaning, especially the concrete floor. There were a lot of repairs needed. The closet doors in bedrooms were just hanging, therefore it was a safety hazard for young children. One set of bunkbeds needed repaired or replaced. We could not use them for safety reasons. Several lights would not work in the bedrooms. Outside was nice except for several wasps nest over back door.For the price charged we should not have had these issues. It would be a very nice place if these issues were addressed.

Nice property

Very clean , spacious, and good location. Pool is very small, beach unacessable when tide is in. Very few TVs in bedrooms. Front porch needs painting and pressure washing. Nice kitchen area . Contact phone number for owner was incorrect. Number for Villas by the Sea. . Air conditioning worked great. Dryer did not work when we arrived but a new one was delivered in a few days. We had a great vacation at Jekyll!

Brief Getaway

Home was nice and in a good location.We enjoyed the peace and quite.The positives were: Plenty of space, nice neighborhood, great ocean view, good hot water, Main house AC worked fine, Nice kitchen well stocked.The negatives were:Beach was not accessable due to erosion and stone revetment, pool was tiny, breaker fir internet kept tripping, internet is super slow, AC for rear sun porch did not work, All but 2 beds were comfortable most were very hard, bed li ens and pillows were poor quality.

Making memories

We had our honeymoon on Jekyll. Retuned this year to celebrate our 40th with our 2 daughters and their families.Lots of room, neat layout, sunroom with ocean view, heated pool. Grandkids loved it! Perfect for our needs.

A nice stay for a long weekend!

Property was adequate for our stay. It’s very hard to find larger homes in Jekyll and one that was on the ocean with a small pool was very convenient so we could be together. The kitchen was open on the right as you walked in. Good variety of items, well stocked. The floors are all painted cement. Which works well keeping feet cool in the summer and clean up easy! If you like

Home large and big for a crowd

It was fine for our family of 11 but needs some serious renovation. Everyone had their own bedroom which was lovely. Bathrooms were clean and as described. . House is more camp style with beautiful ocean views and yard. The only problem we had was that the fire alarms went off in the middle of the night. We called the management company to check on this and they never returned our call.

Family wedding during Hurricane Helene

Amazing home with room for our family. Perfect location. Is beautiful, even in the dark. We had a wedding weekend during the hurricane and felt safe and happy even without power and phones.

Perfect location

The location was perfect! The layout worked well for our 3 families, plenty of beds, unfortunately they were very uncomfortable. The house was surfaced cleaned but could use a good deep cleaning. The house is not stocked with supplies so just prepare to shop on the way in and pick up necessities.
