About this property
Charming period cottage quietly located in the centre of Winchester
Charming period cottage quietly situated in one on Winchester's quaint old streets.
This renovated cottage still retains the old features which give it plenty of character - old fireplaces and doors and twisty old staircase.
It is ideally situated in the city centre, so all the historic sites, the world class restaurants, bars, live theatre and markets are a very short stroll, there are also many delightful walking and cycling trails along the river and up onto the famous South Downs.
This cottage makes a very homely and comfortable base to come back to after a day out exploring or at work, and the beautifully fitted out kitchen/dining room invites you to enjoy a take away or home cooked meal.
During the summer months you can enjoy the garden with its terrace for al-fresco dining or relaxing, this is accessed by a flight of quite steep steps which are unsuitable for those with restricted mobility and small children should be supervised when playing on them.
The cottage is a terraced cottage, typical of the Victorian old houses in many cities in England, this means it has other houses attached on each side of it, the area directly outside the back door is a yard half of which belongs to this cottage and half to the neighbouring cottage, there is a steep flight of stairs which is also shared with the next door house leading to another terrace which is for the exclusive use of guests in our cottage, each cottage has its own terraced garden.
The cottage is located in a quiet pretty old street which is part of a conservation area, as such we are unable to change the old windows, so they are single glazed and in the winter months are likely to have some condensation on the inside, but we provide attractive plantation shutters which improve the heat insulation at the front of the house - the windows at the back are all double glazed..
