We were there for our daughter’s gymnastics meet at University of Denver. We loved this location because it was close enough to everywhere we needed to go and close enough to everywhere we wanted to go! The home is beautiful! Thank you for having us

Birthday in Colorado!

Three Owls is an absolutely beautiful, peaceful retreat. I rented it for the second time to put the finishing touches on my sister's birthday celebration. She said she wanted to experience peace, space, beauty, and an exceptional view. Three Owls, has all of it from the interior to the exterior. We sat on the porch and listened to the stream and chimes, when the wind blew. The property looks like it does in the photos. Perfect! When we walked in, there were fresh flowers and a card from Liz (the property host), welcoming "her" to the property, with a warm birthday wish...just wow! Three Owls is amazing! A few minutes away from the highway, food, shops and plenty of beauty.

Perfect property for our family vacation. The house is well stocked for cooking, including seasoning. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels for our entire group. Great location to take in rafting, hiking and gold panning. Communication was over and above.

Great week at 3 Owls Retreat

Beautiful property, well laid out for our three generation family, allowing us space to all be together and private space when we wanted some. Located just 5 miles up the Mount Evans (Mount Blue Sky) Highway from Idaho Springs, close to all the attractions/activities the area has to offer. Teenage grandkids, 40-something kids and we had a wonderful time.

Family Vacation

Loved the location of the rental as you have a lot of options for activities. The house was well stocked with household items. Rooms were wonderful and great for a family vacation for 10. The only negative that we found was the oven seals were terrible. We had to turn up the heat to allow for leakage, Other than the oven issues, the accommodations were outstanding. We would recommend this location to others! We had a great time!

perfect house for my family of 10

The layout of the house was perfect, each family had their own room(s) spread out on 3 floors. (there were 10 of us) The kitchen was large & dining table held us all. The grandkids loved floating their toys down the stream. The lawn was large enough to play ball. The only downside was the dust from the road next to the house. We wanted to sit outside on the wonderful wrap around deck, but we all gave up due to the road dust billowing up to the house whenever a vehicle went by. (The house is right off the road.) Was an issue even if out on the lawn, but not as bad. We wish the road had been treated with oil/dust suppressor, then it would had been absolutely perfect. (This was the only reason for not giving a 5 star...the inside of the house is a 5 star.)

Peace, on steroids

Amazing! Three Owls, offered us everything that we needed. Walking in for the first time, my partner's response was "nice!" About 2hrs after settling in, now sitting on the front porch, he looked at me and said "you did good. I wasn't expecting anything of this magnitude." He absolutely loved cooking in the kitchen. There's plenty of seating but enough space to "feel free to move about the cabin." My guy is a rather large guy; he was comfortable with the furniture size the and the fact that every inch of space did not have something in it. too. We didn't feel cramped at all. We spent a large portion of our time just chilling outside on the front porch, like country people. From the porch, I photographed darn near everything that I saw: hummingbirds, blue jays, unknown birds, chipmunks, a fox and the myriads of flowers, weeds that look like flowers, pines and aspen, without ever leaving the property. Listening to the stream mixed with the sound of the chimes...perfect peace. The master shower is big enough for two, needless to say, we made full use of it. Three Owls has everything: your group can be as close or as far apart as they want to be. There were only 2 of us but, it's perfect for larger groups. It's perfect, not sure how I've missed it before but, Three Owls is now saved as a favorite. I'm already discussing going back with family. Three Owls,..perfect!

Extended family get together

We came in town for a family wedding at the Blackstone Ranch a mile down the road. The location was wonderful, Idaho Springs is an 8 minute drive to wonderful Breweries, coffee shops, and restaurants, and grocery store. But being up in the mountains you feel like you are by yourself. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large clean, and well stocked. Beautiful outdoor space and lots of room to spread out around the home. We enjoyed our trip and recommend this place for large groups or a family vacation.

7 women get a way!

Wonderful home and accommodated 7 women beautifully. Tranquil, quiet and peaceful. The creek literally runs by the home and you can hear it lull you to sleep from the upstairs bedroom! Several sitting areas to retreat too, the steam shower was a must for us all to try, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all that we needed to cook our meals. The town is very cute and close for grocery’s. We all recommend the drive to Breckenridge!!! What a great town to shop, eat, and walk an amazing trail system. You can bike or walk between Frisco and Breckenridge. Another must… the hot springs!!!! We had a day there to use the mineral pool, hot springs, and of course, added a much needed massage. Another must in my opinion!!!! The only two things I would recommend the houses would need- a tea kettle and kindling/ fire starters for the wood stove. There is plenty of wood in the shed but some may struggle to start if your not a pyro like me :) We enjoyed a fire every night. Thank you for such a great home!

Great mountain retreat, centrally located

We rented the 3 Owls Retreat for a spring break family gathering/ski trip, which coincided with the March 2024 snowstorm in the Front Range. Communication with the host was uniformly positive, clear, and helpful. The instruction manual for the property is probably the best I've encountered in my limited experience. We spent a lot of time together in the kitchen and open format dining/living room, which worked well. Bedrooms and furnishings were all more than satisfactory. As mentioned, the area had 30+" of snow in about 36 hours. This shut down I-70, as well as nearby ski areas; power was out for about 18 hours. Fortunately, the hosts anticipated such situations and there were lanterns, backup jugs of drinking water, a downstairs LP fireplace & upstairs wood stove which were sufficient to heat the home. This foresight was very much appreciated. This property is located a short distance up a gravel road which, under normal conditions, is readily passable by a standard 2WD vehicle. With this snowfall, the main paved road didn't get plowed until well after the snow ended (understandably), and the local road serving this property and others up the valley did not get plowed at all by the time we left. Our gang of teenagers pitched in to clear enough for our cars to get out but it took most of a day. Overall, this property is ideal for mid to slightly larger gatherings of family and close friends. Nearby Idaho Springs is a good home-base. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

Our group of 11 adults had an excellent stay at Liz’s cabin and more than enough room to spread out during the day and night. Liz was responsive before and during the trip and answered all of our questions. The cabin feels remote and has a beautiful view of the adjacent wilderness but was easily accessible from Denver. We enjoyed lounging by the wood burning stove and cooking in the well-appointed kitchen. When we wanted a change of scenery, the restaurants and stores of Idaho Springs are just a few minutes drive away, as well as many excellent hiking trails. Our group is already talking about a potential return trip!

perfect family retreat

We really enjoyed our time at this cabin. The cabin had everything we needed to make our meals in the kitchen. We enjoyed being able to hook up our phones to the sound system that plays on all levels. The 12 people we had slept comfortably. The views in the morning were amazing. Downtown Idaho springs is like 10 minutes away. It has a yard that the kids played in, very rare for a cabin. The host was a great communicator and reached out to us prior to our visit and responded promptly when I had questions. We highly recommend this place.

Gorgeous home

We have an amazing time in this beautiful mountain home. We loved cooking in the large kitchen. Rooms were comfortable and our group had plenty of space. We would all stay there again (especially if a hot tub is added). They had fun clues to solve a puzzle around the house which added an extra layer of fun.
