Amazing holiday at La Pozailla!

Our stay at La Pozailla was wonderful! The house has everything you could wish for: Beautiful pool, plenty of space for activities such as football or basketball, gill, pizza oven, several places to sit outside and a beautiful view of the mountains. Everything was very clean and well kept. The garden is stunning with lots of different trees and plants. Fernando was very welcoming and everything worked perfectly - despite our very basic knowledge in Spanish. The location of the villa is secluded and quiet, however it is close for trips to Grazalema, Ronda, hiking routes etc. Muchas gracias por la estancia muy bonita en La Pozailla!

Peace and perfection

We loved our stay at the villa. It was perfect for our 6year old nephew, plenty of space to run around and play. The pool was a great size for all five of us. We loved the location, being off the beaten track away from it all. We enjoyed stargazing in the evenings and even saw Mars! Fernando was on hand if we needed anything but everything had been thought about so we only saw him on the morning we left. You will need a car if staying at the villa. We ventured to Ronda, Grazelema and El Gastor for some of the local festival activities. This is real, authentic rural Spain. The best location of you don’t want the tourist coastal areas. We hope to come back again.

A little oasis just outside Grazalema

We highly recommend Fernando’s house. It’s a little oasis just outside Grazalema and 20 minutes drive from Ronda. The house is perfect in every respect, even down to the excellent air conditioning, which comes in useful when the nights are hot. During the day you’re calmed by the sound of the water from a nearby spring that runs through a series of narrow stone channels in the garden. The swimming pool is surrounded by a beautiful lawn where you can lie in the shade of different kinds of tree (orange, quince, lemon, avocado, pomegranate etc.). There’s also a badminton lawn and a mini football pitch with five-a-side style goal nets. The house is next to a mountain stream, replete with little pools and, if you don’t mind a short hike, quite a spectacular waterfall. In the nearby sierras there are excellent walks, catering to all abilities (our favourite was the rocky El Simancón peak). Cycling also seems to be popular in the area. And if you’re feeling adventurous, the climbing routes just outside Grazalema are arguably the best in Andalucía. Many thanks to Fernando for renting the house to us – we’ll definitely be back!

Stunning, secluded position in the mountains

We had a fabulous week at La Pozailla. The house and gardens are very private and spacious and have beautiful mountain views. We went with our two teenage sons and there was plenty of room to play ball games including a basketball net on the patio in front of the house. A lovely river runs along a gully at the bottom of the garden and the villa is very well equipped. We speak no Spanish and Fernando no English, but he was very welcoming and we understood everything required. Couple of things to note is that the house is not easy to find and is off an unmade road so it is worth looking carefully at the internet maps before you go. The three bedrooms all have air-con units, but here are two beds on the balcony above the living space (you can see one in the photos) which is described as an "attic" room, but are not actually in a private room.
