It is located near the port with its magnificent artificial harbor (the largest in the world) and the city of the sea.

Nous n'étions dans la maison que pour dormir et le petit déjeuner et n'avons donc que très peu gouté aux charmes de cette grande maison, très bien équipée, à l'ameublement très personnalisé (c'est un compliment). Le propriétaire est très sympathique. Seul bémol, l'odeur persistante de tabac froid, mais nous étions prévenus.

Haus mit Nachgeschmack

Positiv: Grosses Haus mit außerordentlich gut sortierter Küchenausstattung, Garten mit Schildkröte, Terrasse, zentrale Lage in Cherbourg, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants zu Fuss zu erreichen. Weniger positiv: Haus und Einrichtung riechen stark nach Zigarettenrauch, Sofas extreem durchgesessen, genauso wie die Matratzen. Das Haus ist voll mit privaten Gegenständen des Vermieters, was im Prinzip ganz charmant is wenn es um Musikinstrumente geht, aber beim Gebiss im Badezimmer weniger schön. Irgendwo im ersten Stock muss eine undichte Stelle im Bad sein, es tropft ins Wohnzimmer darunter. Negativ: Wir haben bei der Dame die zur Endabnahme kam für eine Endreinigung bezahlt. Wir hatten die Betten abgezogen und unseren Abfall mitgenommen und die Spülmaschine ausgeräumt aber eben nicht geputzt. Noch im Auto auf der Heimfahrt ruft der Vermieter wutentbrannt an und macht uns zur Schnecke weil wir das Haus ungeputzt zurückgelassen haben. Erklärungsversuche waren trotz guter Französischkenntnisse zwecklos. Auf spätere Versuche die Lage zu klären ist Vermieter nicht mehr eingegangen. Sein cholerischer Ausbruch hat einen bitteren Nachgeschmack hinterlassen, obwohl der Urlaub eigentlich gelungen war.

Très bien placé et du caractère

La maison de Franck a beaucoup de charme. Elle est grande, richement meublée, bien équipée. La terrasse est charmante, le jardin en contrebas est luxuriant. Nous avons eu des soucis avec la chaudière et Franck a été très réactif. Le 1er bémol se situe vraiment sur l’odeur générale de la maison (tabac en bas, d’un autre genre en haut mais vraiment désagréable également). On s’y fait mais ce serait vraiment le point à améliorer. Ensuite, le lit double superposé est d’une accessibilité très relative: nous avons dû mettre le matelas au sol car c’était impraticable. Malgré cela nous y avons passé un moment agréable. Merci!

Grande maison bien située, près du centre ville et de la cité de la mer. Point de départ de très belles ballades le long de la côte. Le propriétaire est très sympathique et sa maison est un paradis pour les amateurs de musique et de bons vinyles.

"La meilleure maison des vacances" selon mon fils de 4 ans, parce que c'est une maison vivante avec toutes les affaires et tous les jouets des enfants ! Location très spacieuse, nous étions 6 (2 familles) et chacun avait largement son espace. Maison bien située, proche du centre-ville, la visite de Cherbourg peut se faire à pied. Le propriétaire est accueillant, il met tout de suite à l'aise. Tout s'est donc très bien déroulé.

Centrally located very close to all facilities. Thought it stated linens are provided . The linens where very few of poor quality and we bought sheets and pillows. As a non smoking group the very strong smell of cigarettes was off putting. When the rooms where aired it was much better. The rooms are bright and cheerful but the sofas where uncomfortable to sit on. It's a quirky and fun house and the kitchen and sitting area are very pleasant I loved the garden area.

Prachtig ruim huis midden in het centrum van de levendige stad Cherbourg, maar toch rustig gelegen

4 tm 18 augustus 2017 Het huis is in één woord geweldig ! Heel ruim, met 4 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers geschikt voor maximaal 8 personen. Voorzien van alle moderne gemakken (vaatwasmachine, wasmachine, droger, wifi, tv en audio) en veel meer dan dat. De ligging van het huis is perfect. Midden in het centrum van Cherbourg-Octeville, maar toch rustig gelegen en met een flinke tuin. Een winkelcentrum met een gigantische Carrefour supermarkt om de hoek en 5 minuten lopen van het gezellige centrum van de stad. In Cherbourg is een bezoek aan Fort du Roule, de jachthaven en Cité de la Mer de moeite waard. Cherbourg is ook een goede uitvalbasis voor uitstapjes naar plaatsen en stranden aan de mooie kust van het schiereiland Contentin (Barfleur, Nez de Jobourg, Cap Carteret, L'Isle Tahitou). Ook de WO II landingsstranden en andere plaatsen bekend van D-Day (Omaha en Utah Beach, begraafplaats VS militairen, Point du Hoc, St. Mère Église) zijn goed bereikbaar. Frank (samen met zijn zoon Arthur) is een zeer gastvrije gastheer. Hij stelt het hele huis beschikbaar en alles wat daarin staat: gitaren, drumstel, geluidsinstallatie met LP en CD-verzameling, televisie met Wii en PS3 (incl Dvd's en spellen), fitnessapparatuur, hengels...... Zij waren samen aanwezig toen we aankwamen en zwaaiden ons 's morgens vroeg uit toen we weer vertrokken. Heel relaxed en goed bereikbaar als dat nodig was. ======= August 4-18, 2017 The house fantastic ! Very spaceous, with 4 bedrooms en 2 bathrooms suited for up to 8 people. All modern facilities are available (dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, wifi, tv and audio) and much more... The house is situated perfectly. In the center of Cherbourg-Octeville, but in a quiet neigbourhood and with a nice garden. A shopping center with a huge Carrefour supermarket around the corner and a 5 minute walk away from the center of the town. In Cherbourg a visit to Fort du Roule, the marina and Cité de la Mer is worth while. Cherbourg is also a good base to visit the beaches and places of interests of Contentin. The landing beaches and other reminders of WW II are also nearby. Frank (+ son Arthur) is a very hospitable host. The entire house and all the stuff in it is available for the guests, and that is a lot (guitars, drums, fitness, tv and audio with a large LP/CD collection, fishing gear...). The welcomed us when we arrived and waved us goodbye when we left early in the morning. Frank and Arthur, thanks for a wonderfull holiday !

Une maison ave une âme

Maison extrêmement agréable par ses grandes surfaces, sa luminosité et sa déco très conviviale et chaleureuse.Elle se trouve dans un quartier calme et bénéficie d'un joli jardin et d'une terrasse . De plus la maison est très bien située, à proximité des commerces, du centre ville qu'il est très facile de rejoindre à pied. Le propriétaire est très sympathique, ponctuel et désireux de se montrer agréable . A noter qu'il s'agit d'une maison de fumeur. C'est un lieu parfaitement adapté pour des vacances à plusieurs où chacun pourra trouver ses aises et son espace.

Grande maison familiale à 2 pas du centre ville

Très grande maison idéale pour un séjour en famille, où chacun peut avoir son espace de vie, entre la cuisine, le double salon au RDC, et les chambres (dont une de plain pied). Très bien située, commerces de proximité accessibles à pied et centre ville de Cherbourg grâce à la passerelle sur le port. La cuisine est tres bien équipée, avec beaucoup d'ustensiles de cuisine. Ambiance assurée avec la fabuleuse collection 70's de vinyles du propriétaire. Un point d'attention, il s'agit d'une maison de fumeur, narines sensibles pensez aux bougies parfumées ! Nous avons passé un excellent noel, à recommander !

Cool, calm and collected !!

Le cinq étoiles n'est pas crédible mais le quatre étoiles est largement sous-evalué pour les amoureux des seventies , avec une prestation aussi riche en services qu'en confiance de la part du propriétaire. A vous réconcilier avec le genre humain. Un grand merci et au plaisir de pouvoir y revenir.

Maison de centre ville très agréable et très personnalisée, propriétaire absolument charmant.

La maison est spacieuse et très calme. Intérieur très vivant, bohème et personnalisé à l'image de son propriétaire (tendance musique jazz). Ne convient cependant pas aux maniaques du rangement et des appart'hôtels. Jardin idéal pour les enfants, clos et avec jeux. Environnement parfait pour profiter de Cherbourg à pied ou en vélo. Le propriétaire est d'une grande gentillesse. A recommander, sauf si c'est un hôtel qui est recherché.
