Loved the location. Hairpin turns in the road to get up there. It is the woods so lots of bugs. Some of the appliances were old and did not work very well. But the management company was quick to take care of any issues. Lots of fans and room a/c. Lots of games and puzzles. Lots of sleeping areas. Big wrap around porch.
This was a comfortable and private cabin just close enough to zip into town when needed. It was clean inside with comfortable furniture and has a nice deck for eating and enjoying the songbirds. We were initially locked out on arrival due to a broken storm door covering the electronic lock, but the rental company was very helpful and dispatched someone quickly to assist, we were very thankful. The hot tub was a fantastic feature we used daily during our stay, though it is situated in a corner that makes the cover very difficult to open up and close again—we got over that! There was a heat wave during our stay that caused us to need the central air to be turned lower at nighttime and we could never figure this out, we think it might not be adjustable. Fortunately there are fans in every room and we just blasted them. All in all, it was a very nice stay and aside from needing just a little TLC the cabin worked out great.
Good property for family of 5. What was most impressive was immediate response of management to any questions or concerns we had prior to and throughout our stay.
Our stay was like coming home everyday! Very warming and comfortable. Location was perfect for our travel and community was very quiet and peaceful. Looking forward to staying again in the future.
Surrounded by woods on top of the mountain. Wonderful porch for sitting and enjoying the outdoors. Comfortable cabin with all of the amenities.
Close to Boone and surrounding towns with activities.
Enjoyed ourselves immensely~
Perfect location, central to Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock. Quick access to our kids at App State. Clean house, beautiful scenery, quiet, and cozy. Would definitely rent again!
Great family getaway! Perfect visit with our son who is at App State. Super cozy. The master bathtub was dirty and clogged so kinda gross. Place could use a deep clean but otherwise lovely.
We loved the location. This is a cute cabin with all you need to be cozy. The hot tub on the cold nights was inviting and relaxing. Watching the deer graze in the front and back yards was exactly what we needed to unwind and just enjoy the mountain. The views are also amazing, keeping in mind for us, there were no leaves on the trees (March). But I am sure in the summer, it is just as beautiful.
Angels Peak is truly lovely - feels like home! Loved all the hand done wall hangings- quilt squares, embroidery, cross-stitch, etc. There weee only two of us but seems like a wonderful place for a family stay. All the porch space was especially appreciated. Of course the majesty of the fall foliage was the icing on the cake.

Extra charges
I was quite surprised to see all the extra charges that were not included with the quoted nightly price.
We also had some concerns about the hot tub. I contacted the rental management company and was told that someone would get in touch with me. No one ever did. My husband ended up figuring out how to take care of the problem (adding extra water despite a frozen hose). I should be able to charge them for his work!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay

Need a new cleaning crew.
This property was in a great location, but we were disappointed with condition of the cabin. There was a layer of dust on about every surface. When we arrived the upstairs toilet was left clogged with the plunger setting in front as for us to unclog. The furniture was old and fairly worn out. A lot of pet hair on pillows, throws, and rugs. Dining table felt like it was about to fall apart. Master bedroom mattress was like sleeping in a canoe. The hot tub had not been serviced prior to our arrival, was low on water and very cloudy. It had to be dumped and refilled after we arrived so it took a full day for it to reheat meaning it was not usable during that time. This could be a very nice property, and although disappointed we didn’t let it ruin our visit, but some new furnishings and a new cleaning crew are highly recommended.
This house provided the perfect weekend getaway for our family (4 adults + 4 kids aged 0, 3, 5, 7). It has all the necessities and provides the perfect setting for a winter mountain weekend. We particularly enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and exploring the surrounding property, which was safe but rugged enough to keep our kids entertained one afternoon climbing rocks and such. I also loved how many fleece blankets were scattered around the house to provide extra warmth and comfort during our morning sunrise viewing. The cottage is exactly as appears in the photos— clean, warm, and well-appointed. I saw others reviews complain about the lack of overhead lighting, but I personally loved the feel and vibe of a lamplit mountain cottage. We were pleased to find a functional gas grill and a reasonable amount of spices and cooking oils that previous renters left behind. We couldn’t find a wine opener but thankfully had a corkscrew on-hand, which we donated to the house for the next party :)
As far as location, the view is gorgeous! There were plenty of other houses nearby, but not close enough to desire additional privacy. It was a 25-minute drive to Hawksnest for snow tubing and the Alpine Coaster, which were both awesome and SO much fun for our 3 “bigger” kids—I highly recommend! It was about a 40-min drive to Grandfather mountain and the mile-high bridge, which we explored after riding the Alpine Coaster. Located about 10 min from downtown Boone, we also enjoyed Booneshine brewery which is a great place to bring kids! The pedalin pig is a barbecue joint super close- by and provided a pretty incredible carry-out lunch after a busy morning out yesterday.
Lastly, the rental agency was so friendly and easy to work with, especially given my last-minute booking. We are now driving home and reliving some amazing memories from our short and sweet, last-minute mountain getaway. Thank you for the hospitality!
