Welcome to a four bedroom three bathroom two story White Cape Cod vacation home on the cove. Enjoy the views of the ocean from within this newly appointed retreat. Watch the sailboats and fishing boats while you soak up the sun either on the flat pebble beach out front or hanging out on the large front deck with a cold beverage. This is an all seasons vacation home designed with the traveler in mind. In 2021 we installed high speed fibre optic internet and wifi so this place can be your office with an ocean view if needed.
The eat in kitchen includes a large stainless steel fridge and full size stove. We have a good collection of spices and cooking supplies in the pantry for making cookies with the kids. Walk out to the back deck to bar-b-que or watch the kids play in the oversized 1 acre lot.
The dining room comfortably seats six for family dinners to share the stories and adventures of the day. Views of the ocean from both the dining room and adjoining family room with bright south western facing windows lets you take in the amazing sunsets.
A cozy den with wood burning fireplace is great if you are visiting in the Winter/Fall months. A nice spot to sit and relax and write in your journal after a busy day touring the South Shore.
The main floor bathroom also has a large modern shower. Washer and Dryer are also located on the main floor and this house has a clothes line in the back. Where possible our housekeeper hangs the sheets out on the back line to blow dry for you to enjoy "fresh" clean bedding.
Upstairs are four bedrooms perfect for the entire family or convenient if there are two smaller families travelling together. The upstairs contains a full bathroom that has double sinks to make getting the gang ready for the day move a bit quicker. The master bedroom (queen bed) has an ensuite bathroom. The 2nd bedroom also has a queen bed, and the shark room and whale rooms both have a double bed. The two front bedrooms have ocean views and you can listen to the waves at night for a relaxing sleep.
The beach in front (end of driveway and across the road) is flat pebble beach stones which is great for walking on, wading out into Shoal Cove and makes an amazing spot for bon-fires on the beach as you enjoy the sunsets and brilliant starry night sky. The water frontage showcases the two Tancook islands and across the Mahone Bay sits Chester and the infamous Oak Island (aka treasure island).
Located on the Aspotogan Coastal Drive (Hwy NS-329) where the famous Bayswater Beach and provincial park is only 5 mins away. The local convenience store and "The Deck" restaurant are a one minute walk. Great for dropping in for a seafood chowder & pie or to get your daily ice cream fix in the afternoon.
There is lots to do in the South Shore in case you are new to the area. Charter a sailboat, kayak or fishing boat to enjoy the area from the water. The Aspotogan Coastal Drive is heaven for bikers as much of the route is ocean side and in the summer it is common to see lines of 20-30 bikers peddling past our place. Hop on the Tancook Ferry and drive around the islands to explore the multi-colored homes. A short 20 minute drive will get you to either Chester or Hubbards. Make sure you visit the Hubbards farmers market on Saturday mornings in the spring/summer. Chester is famous for sailing and hosts the Chester Race week August 11-14th 2021. Or visit Lunenburg (45 mins away) and tour shops, restaurants and the shipyards that built the famous Nova Scotia flagship BlueNose II. Take a day and tour the many vineyards and wineries located through-out the Annapolis valley (50 mins drive). And if you want to spend time in the big city, Halifax is only 45 minutes away.
Our goal is to provide you and your family with a great experience so our vacation home has more to offer than just a place to sleep. Properly equipped with the amenities you require.

This was a beautiful home - perfect for a relaxing weekend escape. Jane was a lovely host and responded immediately to any questions we had. Well equipped kitchen and cozy bedrooms. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you!
We traveled to explore a bit of my families roots to Mahone Bay Area. Enjoyed Chester. Blandford as well ! The white cape was the perfect spot, well appointed and relaxing to come back to and just hang out. Wish we had more time ! Thank you for a great stay! We will be back !
Stayed for Thanksgiving this weekend (6 adults) and it was fantastic. It was perfect, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and had a wonderful view of the ocean. Host was very helpful and responsive. Would 100% recommend this fabulous spot.
We spent two weeks here in July. It is ideally located for trips into Halifax, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Chester. Also close to the excellent Rumrunners trail for biking and running. This is easily the best Vrbo house we have stayed at- beautifully decorated and stocked with every item you could think of from olive oil to bandaids, and the owner is very helpful and responsive.
The house was beautiful from the outside and pretty nice inside. The colour scheme was coordinated throughout and tastefully decorated. The home was well stocked to make our stay feel most comfortable.
Despite Fiona everything was done to make our stay in a wonderful area as good as possible. Couldn’t be more pleased with everything that was done by hosts.
The weather was not wonderful but the house was perfect. It had everything we needed and the Wii and Netflix were both a lifesaver with 3 teenagers. I highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit this part of Nova Scotia.
This property is located in a lovely spot with gorgeous views of the water. It is quiet, comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. You feel at home and spoiled at the same time. Communication with the host prior to arrival gave a relaxed, kind, worry free arrival.
Beautiful view, and amazing clean house. You only need clothes and food. The house was well equipped with everything you need. The view is spectacular. The owner is easy to get in touch with. We will definitely be back.
Very much enjoyed our stay, well equipped home,my only suggestion would be on the steep steps going up stairs to add gripping runners for safety,we are an active group of 83 year olds into hiking and biking but two mentioned how slippery the steps were with our stocking feet. Thanks again great stay! Sharon
Beautiful home on a large private lot. Kitchen well stocked with condiments. You need only bring your main meal items. Firepit with sufficient seating. Barbecue. Outdoor seating in front and back of house. Is within relatively short driving distances of swimming beaches (30 mins plus or minus). Worth a drive to Mahone Bay and Lunenberg to sightsee or enjoy a restaurant meal. Would return.

The house is beautiful and ready for your stay.
Let me start by saying that when we arrived, we found the house so charming that we actually contemplated removing items from our list of sights to see. Andrew and Janine have done an awesome job of renovating and decorating. They have also supplied pretty much anything you might need in this home away from home. All we provided were the groceries.
The house is within comfortable driving distance of Lunenburg, Peggy’s Cove, Halifax, and Kejimkujik. The drive to the Bay of Fundy sights is a bit long, but definitely worth the time involved.
The owner was very quick to respond to all correspondence.
Honestly Andrew saved our vacation. We rolled into Halifax during Hurricane Lee, and the ferry to our accommodation was not running. We booked this place two days before our arrival. Andrew let us check in early and use his generator as their was no power. We were in constant communication during the storm even though he was in Italy! This place is a real treasure. I will definitely be coming back. So easy for day trip, beautiful area for exploring. I ran everyday on the road to gorgeous scenery. Truly unreal experience and jt blew our friends minds. They had never been to the east coast. It was amazing! Thank You Andrew for helping us make memories!
I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the property; the lovely & functional decor; all of the basics for food preparation, including tons of spices; flour; baking powder etc. which made it easy to bake & cook;
There was only one important drawback - it was at least a 30 minute drive to purchase groceries. Also, as we are all seniors,
the steep stairways to the second floor (where all the bedrooms are) was a bit difficult to manage at times, especially for one of us that had a recent leg injury.
Overall, I would recommend this property to future renters.
The house is spotlessly clean, very welcoming and most accommodating. Andrew and Janine provide you with a beautiful home that is well equipped for a wonderful stay.
The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you may need.
From this convenient location we were able to explore Peggy's Cove. Lunenburg, Halifax and much more. Communication and checkin could not have been easier. I would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in staying in this area.
We loved our stay. The house was even better than in the pictures. It is beautifully decorated, yet welcoming and comfortable. There is a ton of space inside and outside. The furniture on the front porch is comfortable and we spent a lot of time taking in the view. The bedrooms were all a great size and the beds were very comfortable. There was a constant cool breeze coming off the water and fans provided in each room. Even during a heat advisory, the house remained cool and comfortable. The kitchen is the best stocked kitchen I have encountered in a rental. The owners have thought of everything. We cooked most meals at the house and I had everything I needed. There is a great guest book that introduces you to the house and local area. Make sure to head to The Deck for ice cream! The house is in a perfect location for exploring the area with points of interest within a reasonable driving distance in all directions. Andrew was great at communicating before and during our stay. I would highly recommend this home and would happily stay there again if we are ever back in the area.
The house was exactly as the pictures. Very clean and tidy inside, nicely furnished and a good supply of essentials. The Welcome binder was very helpful. The owner was very friendly in communications and responded quickly. He also provided good suggestions on places to eat & golf. Note that the nearby restaurant "The Deck" is closed for renovations however there are lovely places to eat in nearby Chester (The Foc'sle) and in Hubbards (Tuna Blue Restaurant). Overall, a lovely vacation with many happy memories!

Just like you I love to travel a few times a year and book almost all of our vacation stays using sites like VRBO. We love the summertime in Nova Scotia and our family are avid sailors. I have also competed internationally with sailboat races from Boston to Halifax, New Port RI to Bermuda and from Halifax to the French island of Saint Pierre and Miquelon. We have also spent several summers racing the waters in front of our new Cape Cod as part of the annual Chester Race week.
Why they chose this property
My wife and I have been acquiring income properties over the past decade and discovered that we both love doing renovations, designs and decorating. In fact we designed and built our own home in 2015 in the Halifax area and got the itch in 2017 for more design and construction work which led us to purchasing this Cape Cod in Blandford.
We have fully renovated the main floors putting in Birch hardwood, ceramic tiles, 3 completely new bathrooms, all new doors, a few new windows, new shingles and took out a couple of walls to open up the place. The furniture is a combination of new contemporary pieces with some antiques from our family.
We are also avid followers of the infamous Oak Island Treasure Hunt and coincidently the day we were in Chester purchasing the double vanity for the main floor bathroom we saw Dave Blankenship in the store picking up supplies.
What makes this property unique
Nova Scotia is beautiful any time of the year but the summers and fall are even more special because you can enjoy the ocean. There are several white sandy beaches nearby where you can play in the waves or body surf. Kayaking, sailing, fishing and power boating are also available.
Our place faces south west so you can watch the terrific sunsets from our beach or balcony.
Two doors over is the local restaurant called The Deck. The kids will love taking a walk over in the afternoon to get an ice cream cone.
Our surrounding neighbours in Blandford are boat builders, sail makers, a jeweler and pottery makers. You can't get any more east coast than that.
