The house was very clean and nice. It was completely stocked for our stay. The kitchen had pots and pans for us to cook with and they had soaps and shampoos incase you forget yours. Also, they have a vehicle that they let you use to get around the island.

Spring 2024

We had a great time staying at this beautiful house on Sapelo. The house was a perfect place for us to rest after spending our days exploring the island. Tod was extremely helpful with ensuring we knew how to properly navigate the island.

Great Family Adventure Getaway

We completely loved it. Clean and comfortable house, well-stocked kitchen. Quiet and peaceful hanging out at the house, Front porch sitting and a close drive to the beach. We had so many adventures and so many more places that we want to come back and explore.

Nice, comfortable new home and use of the golf cart made it perfect Sapelo getaway.

The house is new, clean and very comfortable. The house was nicely furnished and had plenty of everything. The one kitchen item it lacked was a pitcher to make iced tea, but we made do. Also it was nice to have access to a washer and dryer. The Baileys are super nice people and Barbara's cooking was outstanding and plentiful.

Great getaway!

We loved our time on Sapelo. Beautiful beaches to explore. The house is great. Very clean and well appointed. We loved the large front porch. Todd helped us get acclimated before the ferry and made sure our getaway was special. We got some meals from Barbara which was nice since you have to bring all your food with you. Chris gave us a tour of the north end of the island which was interesting to see.

Amazing location and perfect house

This is our second year staying on Sapelo in the cottage. We had just as much fun this year as last. The house is clean and perfectly setup. The golf cart is a great bonus to the property. The kids love the play ground accords the street. The owner is an attentive and was very helpful with all our questions. Chris and Barbara were very nice and took care of all our needs on the island. I can’t wait to go back next year!!

A Breathtaking Retreat into Nature

Sapelo Island is a breathtakingly beautiful escape into nature. My family and I loved every second we were here. We were quietly invited into a natural landscape that is majestic and powerful, a drastic difference from vacations where visitors trample all over God's beautiful creation. Our days consisted of family, exploration and the beach. The cottage had everything we needed and then some! Tod was quick on every communication. We would stay here again in an instant! Highly recommend without any hesitation.

Luxury on Sapelo

This house is one of the most amazing places we’ve ever stayed! As soon as you reach the front porch, you feel right at home. We had literally no issues with The house or golf cart or bikes. The locals are super friendly. You feel so comfortable and relaxed within the first few hours, you never want to leave! When I return to Sapelo Island, this is the only place I will stay. Edward is an amazing host! Chris and Barbara Bailey are super nice, available and extremely knowledgeable. We loved the entire experience!

Beautiful home

Sapelo is definitely off the beaten path. If you are looking to spend a week in nature or just enjoying the amazing elevated front porch of this house, this is the place. It comes with a Surburban which is really nice to help navigate the island. The owner is extremely helpful. We were there for a wedding and unfortunately, Hurricane Nicole shortened our trip so we were only able to stay two of the four days we booked. Tod kept us up to date on the ferry closure and reopening throughout the storm and provided extremely helpful directions and information on all there is to enjoy on Sapelo.. If I come again to Sapelo, this is the place I would choose to rent again.

Sapelo feels like Home

Sapelo Island has always held a very special place in my heart. It is truly one of the unknown gems of the state, and I hope it stays that way. The history on the island is pure and untouched, as well as the culture| — if you want gift shops and boutiques, go to St Simons. We have stayed here a couple of times now, and absolutely love the tidal flat cottage. Tod met us at the ferry landing on the trip out, as always, he was very polite and courteous ( no surprise-his texts and phone calls prior to the stay were always polite, on point, and punctual.) The cottage was just as we remember from seven years ago- clean and orderly with everything we needed to enjoy an amazing family vacation (Once we figured out the dynamic of the coffee maker, and the fact that it did not have a decanter 😊). I honestly have zero negative feedback, there could have been nothing that would’ve made for a better stay.

Off Grid

If you are looking to get off grid for a bit and surround yourself in wildlife, privacy and the natural beauty of the GA coast, then Sapelo and Tidal Flat is for you. Everything from the initial inquiry about booking through our last day loading onto the ferry was a breeze. The house is well appointed and comfortable. The owners are extremely prompt in communicating and Chris and Barbara prepared and delivered yummy meals. Having the Surburban in which to explore as well as the bikes absolutely MADE our trip. Though they do have internet access, we chose not to use it, told family to call the land line for emergencies only and totally unplugged. We couldn’t have had a better time just being together and exploring the beautiful island- highly recommend!

Sapelo Island Haven

This is a beautiful new home with well thought out design features, high ceiling & stunning warm natural wood. A unique feature is the huge covered front porch with outdoor seating. The kitchen is spacious; lots of cabinets (beautiful wood cabinets painted a bluish-green palette- reminiscent of sea glass color ) and well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc., everything you might need. Spacious island with new stove top & large area for food prep & cooking. Refrigerator is a new model with great storage space. Dining area is roomy with an inviting big farmhouse style table and ample seating. Living area is large with comfy furniture, tv, board games & blankets- a great place to kick back. Bedrooms are inviting with comfortable bedding & warm natural wood. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Communication with Todd (Home owner) was outstanding & timely responses to questions. Bonus: right across the street - the Sapelo Island library & a new playground & basketball court. A lovely home.

If I go missing, check here first

We had a really amazing long weekend here that wasn’t long enough. The island is gorgeous and unlike any place I’ve ever been in the US, the beaches were full of little critters and deserted in the best way, and the house was fantastic. We spend a lot of time in the N GA and W NC mtns, and this was like taking our favorite isolated mtn cabins and plopping it next to a beach. The house is luxurious, even though I spent most of my time on the deck, and the views never disappoint. Gators, armadillos, snakes, birds, local cats, deer everywhere. My kids loved it and want to come back ASAP. And as everyone says, Barbara and Chris were great hosts and cooks (just plan for leftovers!). That being said, we are accustomed to isolation, middle-of-nowhere type scenarios and my kids have a lot of wilderness experience so they’re not afraid to come across a rattlesnake or ride bikes thru swarms of mosquitos or get up close and personal with angry crabs. I know some families would not like that experience and prefer a condo/beach bar situation, and that’s not what you’re getting here. We’d love to bring friends but I don’t think we have any that would be able to look past the remote aspect, so just keep that in mind. Not for everyone but absolutely for us.

Total of three of us. All veteran buddies. Home is well equipped. Vehicle was convenient. Walking distance to the little restaurant and gift store across the road made it super convenient on the nights we didn't feel like cooking. Great little secluded island. I would bring groceries with you and your little favorites, it will save you time and energy traveling back and forth off the island.
