Charming chalet on a beautiful, secluded property. After a week of hotels, we just stayed in by the fire and cooked our own dinner. Lovely stay and the host could not have been nicer.
Amazing stay, all the little details were covered! It was easy to tell the owner put thought and effort into ensuring their guests comfort and ability to relax and enjoy.
Located at the end of a dead end dirt street the location was private and very, very quiet. Yet the small town of Trinidad was only 10 min's away. Trinidad has everything you need; grocery store, gas station and several good restaurants. The house has an amazing kitchen, nice big bathroom with tub and shower plus washer and dryer. Beds are ultra comfortable. Outside the hot tub is heaven after a day of hiking in the Red Wood Forest. My personal favorite is the Out Door Shower. Loved it. I strongly recommend this property.
Gorgeous and secluded property. Everything was clean and well maintained, fresh flower clippings from the garden were placed throughout the home. It was the perfect romantic getaway and Heather, the host, was very kind and accommodating - will be booking again
We very much enjoyed our stay at Heathers farmhouse. The inside of the house is very cozy and space was functional. Very helpful host. Would recommend!
A sublime home, garden and setting. Heather is a gracious and communicative host. An oasis in the woods for those seeking peace, relaxation, and a taste of life in Trinidad.
My 3 sons and I enjoyed our stay here. We loved how remote it was and how much we felt at home. So much to do and see in this stunning part of the world glad we got to experience it.
The house was a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful setting and stocked with so many lovely personal touches by the Owner. Kitchen had everything anyone would need. It was clean and organized. The house was cozy, bright and very comfortable. It was nice having a hot tub and outdoor shower. I hope I have the opportunity to stay there again.
We got married in the redwoods it was the start to our beautiful adventure! Couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick it off. Let the records ride in the house and relaxed it up! Lovely stay all around
Overall such a lovely experience at this house. As soon as we drove up we knew this was the right place for us. The only change I would have made to our trip was to spend more time at the house, cooking meals and enjoying the space inside and out. We will always remember our time here, as one of the best trips we’ve taken. This was hands down the best house rental I’ve ever stayed at and I hope to be back!
Everything about this place is lovely. We love Heather, the host, and the proximity to beach and redwoods. The house is gorgeous and all hand built. highly recommend!
It was all really great...easy access to big woods/trees, great rides along beaches...there during serious weather and it was wonderful...house was so comofortable and kitchen is well stocked to cook whatever...nice layout and easy to get to everything
We enjoyed every single second of our stay at this enchanting location. I cannot say enough wonderful things about it and we will absolutely return! Heather is the most gracious host and we would recommend this place to anyone.
Home is beautiful, nice host, everything you need in the home. Springtime at this property would be perfect, tons of flowers 💐 and plants, would love to see the blooms.
We absolutely loved our stay at Heather's charming cottage! Heather is a wonderful host, very friendly, great communication, and went above and beyond providing breakfast treats that were absolutely delicious! The house is fabulous - impeccably decorated and so comfortable. Next time we are in northern California, we will definitely stay here again!!

About the host

My name is Heather and I’ve spent years in the service industry cooking and baking as well as teaching yoga and gardening. Currently I have a mini flower business making bouquets for local people. I’m really excited about creating a space for folks to get away and relax with friends and loved ones while enjoying beautiful Humboldt County.
Why they chose this property
This property is unique as it sits just above the coastal fog line and although it is surrounded by trees it gets a lot of sun. It is close to excellent beaches and the town of Trinidad but just enough away that you can really feel at peace. At night you can often hear the ocean and sometimes owls and it’s a wonderful place to view the stars.
What makes this property unique
The home is unique in that it is mainly built with wood harvested from the property as well as lots of vintage windows and trim from old Victorians in the area. The claw foot tub is also a relic from an old Victorian. The steep pitch of the roof is a trademark of the architect, Gene Callahan.
The property is unique in that it has a nice open clearing in the trees with lots of sun and space while also having plenty of large Redwoods and Doug Fir featured throughout, towering above the plentiful alder, fern, cascara and rhododendrons.
