We really enjoyed our stay. Great location near Yellowstone. The kids got a kick out of the loft bedroom. Fun place for a family gathering and the hosts were very gracious!
This property was a fabulous place for us to stay as a family of 5. There was enough room for all of us, the kitchen was nice to prepare meals for on the go. Yvonne and Doug were great and offered great suggestions for activities to do. Highly recommend!
Awesome location, very relaxing just sitting on the front porch and taking in the majestic mountain view. The cabin was very clean , large and everything we needed for our 8 day stay. We visited Yellowstone and the scenic drive approximately 30 miles to the east entrance was beautiful. We also visited Cody which was a bonus with the Beautiful Buffalo Bill Dam and State Park plus lots to see in town. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to everyone whose looking for an amazing vacation.
Our family of 6 stayed very comfortably at the Lodge while we visited Yellowstone. Our hosts were very gracious and accommodating, bringing us an air mattress so kids didn’t have to sleep next to each other. This would make a great location for a larger group or family reunion as the kitchen is HUFE and the living area provide a great open space for a large gathering.
The lodge is located on a vast parcel of property. It seems to be one of 4 rentals available for people. It’s an old camp- the lodge specifically was probably the kitchen. If your family is comfortable with rustic this is a great value. Was a perfect to start our days from.
Experience Yellowstone like a local and stay at Yvonne and Doug's ranch. The location is prime to go anywhere in the park.
Yvonne is just a text/email away. Doug had lots of tips for restaurants and activities.
The lodge was perfect for 4 adults and the large kitchen and dining area are perfect to relax after a day out on the trails.
The piano ( slightly out of tune) was the cherry on top the cake.
We will definitely come back.
Wonderful location! Yvonne was very welcoming and gave s very helpful advice on visiting Yellowstone and local dining. Lodge was very clean and comfortable! Visitors should, however, be advised that this lodge has a large commercial-type kitchen which is a bit unwieldy. Very small bathroom downstairs, none upstairs where bedrooms are located. No TV available, DVD player connected to TV. We did, however, have very pleasant stay there!
Yvonne’s place is wonderful. A spacious, clean cabin on a gorgeous ranch. The hosts are extremely welcoming and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful stay at the ranch! The porch views were amazing and the country around it so peaceful and beautiful. The lodge had the perfect cowboy vibe for our trip. We were able to visit Yellowstone many days and it is not far from Cody where we had a blast at the rodeo! It appears as it is online, the only tricky part was the one bathroom. The kitchen was huge and great for preparing dinners. Doug was very helpful and a delightful host. I highly recommend the lodge for a perfect ranch stay!
Great location. Very quiet. Only a short drive to Cody and Yellowstone. Owners were very responsive to any needs or concerns. Loved the log cabin lodge “feel” of the property.
If in the area, I would definitely stay here again!
We soo enjoyed our stay. The Kappelmans made it very easy to access our lodge as we arrived late in the evening. Nice 2 story with beds up and down. All the necessary amenities including washer and dryer, with a rustic mountain atmosphere inside and out!Great location too, 30 min to Yellowstone East entrance. Thank you Mr and Mrs Kappelman.
It was very comfortable yet rustic. We loved the location in the hills and the lack of light pollution. Yellowstone is close though of course still a bit of a drive. The place is quite large and the sleeping areas are a little unusual but they are comfortable and everyone had some privacy. There’s only one half bath on the first floor so don’t be surprised. We’d stay here again if visiting again.
Doug and Yvonne were wonderful hosts. The cabin was in a great location for activities in the area and at Yellowstone. We had a great trip and would definitely go back!
