HOUSE TOUR
This 1864 farmhouse underwent a full renovation to create a unique hospitality experience for guests. You enter through the front door into the kitchen - the heart of the home. The full chef's kitchen, accented with cathedral ceilings + hand-hewn beams, provides guests with an upscale-cooking experience, down to the appliances + cutlery. Music + conversation flow freely as guests can cook and relax together within the open concept floor plan. A mudroom off the back of kitchen allows extra storage for those boots, coats, and gear.
This 1688 sq ft home packs a lot of punch with 4 bedrooms with 2.5 baths. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and is located downstairs through the sliding barn door off the living room. This loops around into the downstairs full bath, which boasts a 4ft clawfoot tub for stand-up showering or soaking for the kids.
Up the old-fashioned split staircase, you'll find Bedroom 2 off to the left. Bedroom 2 offers two double beds, two closets and a dresser. Many guests comment on the sideways Vermont window, also referred to as a "witches window", historic to New England farmhouses of this era.
Across the landing is the start of the upstairs hallway. Bedroom 3 is the Bunk Room, located off the back of the house. Built to withstand the weight of kids and adults alike, the two single beds provide sleeping arrangements for those looking to feel like a kid again. The closet in this room is one of the largest in the house and is where guests can find the Pack'N'Play if traveling with young children.
Down the hallway through an antique pocket door, you'll find the powder room. This bathroom serves as a great option for night-time and morning routines. The recessed medicine cabinet offers additional storage for guests.
At the end of the hallway, you'll enter Bedroom 4, the Primary Bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bath. This room has a reclaimed barnwood ceiling, a dresser, and a private bathroom that all guests will want to enjoy. The Primary Bath offers aged brass faucets and a vaulted shiplap shower with flush-entry. Ursa Major Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash are provided for all guests as well as soap, lotion, Qtips, cotton balls, first aid kit, and make-up towels.
HEATING + COOLING
The wood-burning stove is located in the Dining Room and provides a secondary source of heat during cold Vermont winters - cord wood is located in the basement. The NEST thermostat is located along the Dining Room wall and serves as the primary heat source. In the Living Room and Primary Bedroom, a heat pump mini split can be used for additional heating + cooling in winter/summer months and is operated by a remote control. Fans are also provided if needed for white noise or additional cooling.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Mara Bry

Channeling that entrepreneur magic into everything I do...I love old homes, well-designed spaces, farm-to-table food, and wine + craft beer. A native New Englander, I moved to Stowe, Vermont with my husband Tyson, where live with our kids, and own and operate our storefront on Main Street: Farm Home Marketplace.
Why they chose this property
Growing up in Vermont, there was never a shortage of projects to be completed at the Bry household, and even as Tyson pursued a career as a professional engineer, the creative freedom and satisfaction of home renovation remained a constant calling. It only seemed fitting that his future wife would share his same enthusiasm to create inspiring spaces.
Lisa, a native of Boston, has always had a knack for order and a keen eye for detail. Her creative career began in 2010 when she founded DanceWorks LLC, where she honed her skills as a young businesswoman and entrepreneur.
Tyson's love for the Vermont lifestyle found them looking for real estate in Stowe, when the couple first laid eyes on an old farmhouse in February 2016. Beyond the rotted sills and clapboards, they were entranced by the character within the walls and unlocked a project of a lifetime. As two young dreamers, they got to work restoring this old beauty one board and square nail at a time. The duo was able to strike the perfect balance of authentic storytelling, documenting the renovation highs + lows on Instagram @thefarmhome.
Their passion for restoration ultimately led them to start Farm Home Co. - a combination of boutique lodging & design studio, which recently transitioned into their online and brick & mortar shop Farm Home Marketplace at 25 Main Street in Stowe. Today, the shop is their way of making unique home design more approachable for clients looking to emulate the Farm Home Co. style in their own homes.
