Perfect Location and Listing

We really enjoyed our stay—this location is close enough to all of the activity in the Capitol Hill neighborhood while still being on a quiet block. Everything was exactly as we expected it to be. We didn't have any issues with the locks like some people have said in past reviews. Be prepared to pay for parking in a nearby lot (which there were always spots available) and it was just at the end of the block—really close. But we never really saw street parking available the entire stay. Thanks for a great location and a great stay!

a few bumps

Apartment was as advertised. Small,very clean. Building it is in is a little shabby. Big problem was the code to the lock to apartment didn't work reliably. Several calls to Hosteeva central number did not solve. Finally got referred to local manager who told us we could unlock with online app which solved problem. They could have saved us a lot of frustration with better upfront info.

Overall the place worked well for my purposes. I was a solo traveler so space was not an issue. The place was clean and had thoughtful touches but the bedroom was quite cramped. Otherwise good. The primary gripe I had was actually entering the apartment once inside the house. The code pad was, well, very finicky and would require 10-15 minutes of trying the code in the hopes the lock would work. This was especially problematic on the day I arrived with luggage and groceries. The door to the apartment is on the second floor, and that afternoon the stairwell was over 95 degrees. Sweaty and frustrated I was finally able to get the door open to an equally hot apartment. Thankfully there is an air conditioning unit that cooled the place down in a couple hours. Working with Hosteeva was an odd experience as they would promptly respond to issues (like the code pad) except they did not directly answer the questions I was asking. I understand the concept of a service like Hosteeva for the host, but it was an awkward situation trying to get actual on-site help since they are CA based. Anyway, in the end it worked out. I could recommend the place if they fix the code pad problem, and if the prospective renter doesn’t mind driving around the neighborhood looking for parking…which is a whole other story.

Very good stay with one glitch

The one issue that keeps this review from being a 5 star is the problems we had with the automated locking system to enter the property! The code did not work and we had to call the manager t to open the door remotely!
