Owner lied
We were supposed to have a golf cart on property for the length of our stay. It was there but died after we got half way to clubhouse. Others in the area told us the owner knew it didn’t work but didn’t fix it. We ended up pushing it back after it died on the way to club house which put my husband in er with back issues. Property manager said owner replaced batteries and called others trouble makers. Common sense said they didn’t replace battery. Clubhouse was supposed to be open, all locked up. Found out from another staying there we had to all the way around back of building to get to pool. Everything that I brought up, I felt was blown off as false

Family vacation
Perfect location for an adult vacation, close to beach, shops, dining and local attractions. Seaglass village amenities were enjoyable- adult only pool and clubhouse especially nice.

Lovely little beach cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at Seaglass Village. The cottage was super cute and well appointed. Beds were comfy and everything was as described. I would definitely recommend.

Great location, needs better cleaning
Lots of housekeeping issues, unorganized cabinets, dirty drawers, broken wine glass set back in cabinet, dirty carpet/rugs and both sofas (white), had stains. Blood stain on one sofa pillow. Shower liner was also not clean (makeup?), all along top and ends. Tv's not programmed one in kitchen had no cable connected, Wi-Fi had to be factory reset, so no Wi-Fi until 2nd day. Bed was very uncomfortable and squeaked every time you moved. Super cute decor, and well stocked unit, but cleaning and maintenance issues were very disappointing.

Expected better
I'm in the area about twice a year to visit family so I was really hoping this would end up being my go to place. The place was cute and clean but had quite a few issues. None of which would prevent me from coming back per say but it won't be my first choice. First the bunk bed was so shaky my son was afraid to sleep in it so he had to sleep on the couch. On the upside, the maintenance guy came out the next morning and fixed it Second there was no heat in the bonus room, but again someone came out the next day to fix it. Lastly, the dishwasher was full and there were wet towels in the washer. I felt like I was at home having to do chores as soon as I got there. In addition, the tea kettle was full of water which makes me wonder how long it had been sitting there. Kind of gross. So again nothing horrible, just enough small stuff to make me look somewhere else first.

About the host

For many years I had a dream to live on the ocean. I learned early on that getting as close as possible to a dream can be satisfying. In 2004 I was introduced to Ogunquit on the Maine coast and I fell in love with the area. It became my go to "escape" for many years until I set my sights on buying a place of my own. While living on the coast was too much of a reach I started to explore opportunities inland. I learned that a friend was interested in selling his property at Sea Glass. Everything fell into place and I purchased #217 in November 2021. I named it "Barefoot Escape" since it allows me to escape the rush in my life and spend some time leisurely barefoot at the beaches along the Maine coast.

Why they chose this property

I purchased a couple of years before I was completely financially ready so the option to rent and share such a beautiful place with others was the perfect opportunity. The meticulous care of the grounds and the ample amenities at Seaglass Village make this venture even more compatible with my lifestyle. Saltwater pools, the gym, firepits, tennis and pickle ball courts, the library and clubhouse make for a resort escape that goes beyond what I had imagined owning when I began my search.

What makes this property unique

I love that Seaglass is centrally located to my favorite places (e.g. Wells, Ogunquit, York, Kennebunk, Biddeford).
