About this property

Private 5 star casita minutes from downtown

This sweet casita is nestled on the Big Tesuque Creek among mature cottonwood trees. Escape to this tranquil home after a day in Santa Fe, just 6 miles away or hike right from the door, up the Windsor Trail and into the Santa Fe National Forest. It is called Casita Margarita after my Aunt Margaret who influenced my love of textiles like the ones that decorate the casita! (You can also enjoy a fresh squeezed margarita here too!)

You will find everything you need in this cozy and private home. Tastefully and simply decorated with folk art from around the world, the casita will become your peaceful retreat. The studio style bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed with a new mattress and organic linens. The open living/dining/kitchen has a comfortable queen size pullout sofa set in front of the kiva fireplace. We provide high quality natural bed linens and use natural cleaning products to ensure your stay is healthy and fresh. The charming full bath is located just off the master bedroom. The kitchen is stocked for your use including essential spices and oils and coffee, teas and bubbly water. There is a private sitting area with a table and chairs in the enclosed courtyard for you to enjoy.

Air conditioning will keep you cool for those hot summer nights.

** Please note that this is a studio style home - a wide archway with a linen curtain separates the living spaces from the sleeping/bath. Pullout sofa is in the living area.

Tesuque is a unique village located just north of Santa Fe on Bishops Lodge Road. With traditional culture along the acequia and creek, two restaurants and several galleries nearby, you will have ample sights to explore. The Santa Fe Opera is located just west of Tesuque - a 5 minute drive from the casita. Between the Santa Fe plaza and the casita is the road to the world famous Ten Thousand Waves Japanese spa, to the stunning Santa Fe National Forest and to the Santa Fe Ski Basin. You can also access the National Forest by hiking straight from the casita and up along the Tesuque Creek....you can go a few miles or into the Pecos Wilderness for days.

We had a wonderful stay at Casita Margarita. The location was fantastic. Peaceful and quiet in Tesuque, yet just minutes from Santa Fe. The casita was very comfortable, thoughtfully appointed, and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.Our host was exceptionally communicative and proactive, making sure everything went smoothly from arrival through departure. The casita was a perfect home base for our Santa Fe visit and made our trip to spend time with our daughter even more enjoyable.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Casita Margarita. A true five-star experience!

Lovely little casita. Accurate description and a great location. Be warned that like many older homes, there is a skylight in the bedroom over the bed. If you like to sleep with it dark, bring a sleep mask. Also, although not related to this property directly, it was a surprise to see many signs sayiing "don't drink the water."

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful little casita in Tesuque Village. It had everything we needed and was thoughtfully set up, making it feel comfortable and easy from the moment we arrived. The location was perfect—close enough to enjoy Santa Fe, but tucked away in a peaceful, quiet setting that made it easy to relax. We loved our stay at the casita! Great, quiet location in Tesuque Village (close to Santa Fe) with fantastic hiking just down the road! The casita was impeccably clean and we loved that the owner uses eco-friendly cleaning products. Another wonderful stay

This will be the second time staying in this lovely casita. Perfect location for hiking and access to the ski mountain. Quiet area near town. Our dogs love it too! Super easy check in too. I’m sure I’ll have even more to rave about next time we stay here!

Cozy rental- perfect for two
