We had a lovely time! The beach access was fantastic, the tide pools were so fun, the house has everything you need, and the jacuzzis were clean and hot! Ken was easy to communicate with, and everything was labeled and explained in the house. We will definitely be back!
This place is amazing, the property is beautiful. Easy walk down to beach, very accessible. The house has all the extra amenities you could ask for, plenty of room and extra beds. Very comfortable feeling and great for family’s. The owner is awesome and so kind. Can’t wait to come back again
We absolutely loved staying here! Awesome location, beautiful views, private beach, access to the river and other beaches and trails. Ken was friendly and helpful. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. We can hardly wait to return!
Large property, super comfy with an amazing ocean view! Loved that you can cook while seeing the ocean. Easy pathway for beach access. Great tide pool areas to explore. Our favorite vacation rental so far!
This property is both beautiful and peaceful, with spectacular views and access to the ocean just feet away. The kitchen is well appointed and the space is comfortable and spacious with a gorgeous ocean view from the master bedroom window and grounds. A great place to relax and take in the ocean air!
Quick Getaway to our favorite place on the west coast.
Ken and Jean are remarkable. Their home is inviting, comfortable, clean and welcoming. We got married there years ago. It’s just the best. You can truly relax instantly. I think what I love the most is attention to detail and its steps to the best beach in Brookings. We can’t wait to book our next stay! Kelly & Patrick, and the pups.!!
Place was amazing, beach at your doorstep! New carpet fumes weren't the best thing but that will dissipate with time and its new carpet which is way better than old musty stuff! A solid place to stay, also a bit tricky to find at night, google wants to stop you about 1/4 mile short of the actual location and on the opposite side of the road, so just make sure you know where you are going if coming in the dark.
We really enjoyed staying here the view and property location were amazing and loved the tide pools. The home was roomy and had all the amenities and owners were very attentive. Definitely needs some new carpet but for a place that allows pets it was great!
The view of the ocean was unbelievable, grass yard for doggies to roll and play, the host Ken and Jean were awesome. Nice that they were right above to help out with Anything! Ken also helped carry my cooler up the stairs when I was leaving. I can hardly wait to return to their wonderful Beach home! Oops forgot to say easy trail to get down to the beach and what a beautiful beach.
We stayed here with our 2 labs, for 3 rainy, early January days. A good place to watch storms, with windows all across the front looking out to the ocean.A very comfy apartment, with lots of room. Many sofas, & the primary bedroom is huge. Not glamorous, but very comfortable. We didn't want for anything - lots of towels, blankets, & a well-stocked kitchen.Woodburning fireplace in the living room makes for a cozy place to warm up - if you can get the wood to light!
We loved being able to sit at the house and hot tub to watch the ocean. The fireplace was nice. We did not watch any TV or movies but there were 3 TVs. There was a big movie selection (DVD).
The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishware and cooking supplies.
The only negative is that there is only one bathroom which is located right next to the dining room table which sometimes caused some slightly embarassing situations, but hey we were with close friends ;-).
All and all it was a nice stay.
Such a cozy and comfortable place!!!! We will definitely be back. Everything that we needed was available and more. Home was clean and cozy and had great views!!! Definitely a 5+ 🌟
The hosts were wonderful and accommodated our schedule which was up and down until the last week due to football playoffs.
They communicated well and we had every question answered!
The beds were soft, there was extra bedding and pillows, plenty of towels for both the hot tub and for showering, the path to the beach is short and well maintained.
It seemed not everybody who visits cooks, as we did find a couple spiderwebs in the ladle and a daddy longlegs in our bedroom, but the floors had been vacuumed, the bathroom was spotless as were the beds.
The rooms had tissues, there were three televisions with players, it would be nice to have spare batteries for the remote, just in case. (one of the dvd players didn't have a working remote and it was probably a battery problem)
It would also be nice to have a flashlight to light a nighttime beach walk.
We were very pleased with all the items provided and the very simple requirements of checkout.
Five star hosts!
The DVD library is wonderful with plenty of choices for all. We had 3 teenagers plus ourselves.
There are labels on all the light switches (push button lights)
I feel like anything you would need, the hosts would quickly provide. Again, wonderful to work with!
This beachside accommodation has many attributes that enhanced our stay. The location is steps away from beach access and great views of the ocean. The living area is spacious with nice and comfortable furniture. The kitchen is large and well equipped for lots of cooking. The only problem with the residence is a musty smell that permeates the living area.

Unclean
We have no problem with outdated decor or home as long as it feels, looks and smells clean, and is in working order. Unfortunately this was NOT that.
Pros: updated bathroom and granite kitchen countertops.
Cons: The carpet was visibly dirty, pieced together in spots and matted as old carpet gets when it’s in need of replacing. Additionally, being “pet friendly” shouldn’t mean that a home smells like pet pee but we definitely felt the need to leave our shoes on.
Because it felt dirty, we paid closer attention and noticed other things such as dirty ceilings, cobwebs and thick dust throughout the home. There was a used q-tip on the fireplace mantle which grossed us out
Outside the yard had not been kept up with and the trail to the beach was not very well maintained. Certainly not as pictured.
Not working: Master bedroom curtains were electric and temperamental to close, the light switches and electrical were very old and confusing. A huge inconvenience, the washing machine would not spin the clothes out. Leaving us to travel with wet laundry.
We would not stay
Overall really nice experience. Very well supplied and relaxing. Nice to be by the beach with really cool tidepools. Only complaint was description said “entire house” which it is not. It is the lower level with the owners living above. Still nice and comfortable though and really private none the less.
Ken and Jean are the best!
Everything was perfect.

Missed leading profile
You have a daylight basement not the house portrayed
Windows so dirty you really can’t see out of them
Pretty much needs major update
Kitchen cabinets damaged and old
Yard grass in front of unit needs cut
No attention to detail
Everyone in the party thought the place was dirty
Replace that 80’s carpet needs to be replaced with plank vinyl
Light switches very confusing
Paint outdoor stairs
I would not stay there again
We really enjoyed this well stocked unit. Beautiful ocean views and very nice beach access. Only complaint was the bed blankets smelled of BO and we had to wash them ourselves.
