Spacious upstairs, in-town Apartment with Veranda steps from everything in town.
Excellent in-town location of Bar Harbor at 4 Mount Desert St. Minutes to all activities within town and across the street from the Island Explorer bus system which offers free transportation to Acadia National Park and the island - they even have a bike rack. Freshly painted and brand new linens. The apartment is within the Historic Corridor and close to shops, restaurants and theaters. Relax on the upper deck overlooking the village green and enjoy the local talent on Mondays and Thursdays with the community band. There is no parking for this rental. There is street parking right out front but it is pay per hour from 9am-9pm. It is cheaper in the lots around town but still $2 an hour. Most people are gone for most of the day and it is not too much of an issue.

We loved our experience with this property. The process was very easy and it is in the heart of town. My family loved being in walking distance to everything and my children loved looking out over the town square. The owners were very helpful and nice.
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the location and roominess of the upstairs apartment! Perfect location right across from the village green! We walked everywhere making for a stress free vacation!

Great Location! Right in the heart of Bar Harbor!
This was a fantastic location that is just across the street from the Village Green Park! Just walking minutes to great restaurants and shops up and down Main Street! Mo and Scott were very accommodating hosts and we would rent from them again. Thanks Scott and Mo!

Ideal spot on the green
Ideal location. Plenty of room for all four of us. Fun to be right on the green but amazingly quiet inside! This was our second stay and we hope to be back again.

Spacious and great location. Interior is a little tired, someone reminiscent of student housing.
A little bit of cracking paint and the finishes are certainly not luxurious. However very spacious, comfortable, and the location is unbeatable. Owners were very nice. I would definitely rent it again

Nice place for our family of 3 that couldn't have had a better location
My review is similar to many others so hopefully folks considering this property get a sense that the location and spaciousness of the apartment can't be beat and While the amenities/furniture are dated they were all in working order.
location was awesome. You're in the middle of the downtown village area and it's great to walk to restaurants and shops. Also we were a little worried about the 2 hour parking limit and we didn't have any problems. We were usually out and about and got back late enough that the time limit didn't matter. I wouldn't let this dissuade you. The apartment had plenty of room for the 3 of us (myself, husband, 19 mo old) -- our daughter loved looking out the big window at the busses and dogs going by. We also didn't have a problem with any noise from neighboring restaurants/pubs so that too shouldn't be of concern. Other pluses: window AC units that worked well, wi-fi, hot showers!!
I would book the apartment again!

Perfect location and hosts that make it easy!
We loved our time in beautiful Bar Harbor and this spacious apartment is right in the middle of it all. We loved having a little balcony area to enjoy the summer nights while our little boy slept peacefully inside. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but you can work around it with a little effort. The hosts provided everything we needed and we're great with communications. Overall would definitely recommend staying here!

Wonderful apt in middle of it all
All I can say is location location location. This was the ideal place to be in Bar Harbor. My girls and I went for a hiking week in Acadia and out of the blue saw this apt for rent on VRBO. I am very glad we booked this one. We didn't want a cookie cutter hotel where we all share a room and this was perfect. Each girl had their own bedroom. I used the large couch in the living room and it worked great. Perfect location to all the dining shopping you could ever want and perfect walking distance. We only used our car to drive to hiking trails or to go exploring the rest of the island. Amenities were nice. Not the plaza but clean and in good working order and the owners were very hospitable. Definitely will re-book when coming back. Greg

Bright spacious rental
Stayed here with our two college-aged daughters. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Well-equipped, clean, comfortable, with spacious living areas, natural lighting from many windows and skylights. No issues with shower, plumbing, wifi, etc. No issues with noise. Ample and thoughtful storage areas, plenty of seating. Pack a frisbee and football for the lovely park out front door. Would definitely stay here again.

A very nice apartment right on the village green. Larger than we expected. Not a designers dream house, but it had everything we needed and we were very comfortable. Felt safe. I'll book it again. Location, location, location.

Great place in a great location!
We stayed in this apartment during August. The location was terrific for us--walking distance to Island Explorer bus stop (highly recommend for exploring Acadia) and various shops and restaurants. Parking is restricted to 2 hours at a time on many Bar Harbor streets including in front of the apartment, but we were always able to find unrestricted parking a few blocks away. Some nights, the crowd from a bar next door was loud, but we were able to mask it by running a fan for white noise. Mo and Scott were very hospitable and responsive to questions.
We highly recommend this rental and hope to return someday!

Couldn't have been better
Amazing location. Tons of space. Very clean and comfortable. Interactions with the hosts were super friendly and getting set up was quick. The apartment can get pretty warm when it's hot out, but there are a bunch of ACs to help combat that. I highly recommend this spot.

Fantastic location and spacious apartment
If you are looking for a convenient and spacious place to stay in Bar Harbor/Acadia, this is definitely worth looking at! The location couldn't have been more convenient with the park right across the street and restaurants/shops right outside the front door. As another reviewer noted, parking was never an issue, and we were often able to find a spot right in front of the apartment. The apartment itself was much larger than we expected! With two separate bedrooms, a large eat-in kitchen, and a living room with a door, we felt we had a ton of space to relax and spread out in when we were home in the mornings and evenings. It was the perfect place for us to stay in with our almost two-year old son. Unlike when you stay in a hotel room, he slept in the provided pack-n-play undisturbed in his own room while we read/watched TV in the living room before retreating to our own bedroom to sleep. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and family, and we hope to rent it again if we head back to Bar Harbor/Acadia in the future.

There are Pros and Cons- you decide
I rent vacation homes several times a year. The entire time I stayed at this apartment (June 2016), I was composing my review in my head. Like most people, I had read all the reviews on this site and looked over the pics. I saw "that one really bad review" that everyone else shamed, and the countless glowing reviews- which made me feel confident in choosing this place to stay on our trip. So I've decided to right an honest review of this property, and you can decide if it's the right place for you to stay.
First the Pro's:
1. Absolutely best location possible
You walk out the door and are on the beautiful village green surrounded by shops and cute restaurants and bars. You can walk everywhere! You can't find a better in-town location. *Please note, there is an Irish pub right below you and two of the rooms can hear the music at night. My teen loved it :)
2. Spacious apartment
You walk into the dining/kitchen area, then down the hall, there are 3 separate rooms. Two are set up as bedrooms (queen bed and double bed), and the last is actually set up as the "living room", but they provide a really nice queen-sized air mattress, and that makes for lots of beds for your group. And it gives plenty of space to spread out.
Now the Con's:
1. Needs Maintenance- a lot of maintenance
Given the positive reviews, I had an expectation in my mind when I walked inside this apartment. The reality of what i walked into left a lot to be desired. There are water leaks on the ceiling in several rooms (still wet!), tattered old furniture (not antique- just ugly), no shower head in the shower (just an open pipe that spews water everywhere), unpainted baseboards TAPED TO THE WALL BY DUCT TAPE, cracks in the walls, rusty old appliances (should have been trashed years ago). The overall feeling is extremely utilitarian. It has space and beds, but absolutely no charm or care for your comfort has been added.
2. TV
There is one tiny TV in the "living room". It is so small that we all had to sit right in front of it to watch a movie. It's ridiculous to have such a tiny TV in a very large room. Also, there are only the most basic channels, which is annoying when you want to watch sports.
3. No laundry
But there's a laundromat a couple blocks away
4. No parking spot
We didn't really mind this, tho
On vacation, you might want a little TLC, and this place does not offer that. But the excellent location might be enough of a draw, so decide for yourself. My family is split :)

Perfect for a family with small kids
This apartment was absolutely perfect for our needs! We have a toddler and an infant, so the highchair, pack and play, and toys were wonderful. And the location couldn't be better, right downtown with everything within easy walking distance. The owners were very friendly, but also respected our need for privacy. The only challenge was parking, but having a handicap tag (for grandpa who traveled with us) made it much easier. I would certainly want to stay there again!

Amazing island and cozy place to land....
Great upstairs apartment in Bar harbor. Very convenient and the bed was sooooooo...comfortable. Mo and Scott were very helpful and hospitable. We hiked and biked the old carriage trails and the weather was great. Everything worked in the apt and it was well equipped.

In-town find
Thank you, Mo and Scott! We are a family of 4 plus a grandfather. This apartment is not only in an *excellent* location (RIGHT in the center of Bar Harbor), it is also far more spacious than we could have hoped for. A generous 2 bedroom with room for all. Quiet at night and everyone slept well. Both children and all three adults successfully took naps when desired, so it was quiet during the day, too. The apartment is well-stocked with pack 'n plays, extra blankets, extra towels, what looked like an air mattress, and all sorts of things to make your stay more homey. We loved the deck and the big kitchen. Living room is huge. Also, the place was safe for our two young children. We had a great stay. One other note worth mentioning - Mo and Scott were very helpful when needed, but also very appropriately non-intrusive. We also appreciated that they did not require a lot of upfront paperwork to be signed and sent back and forth and did not charge ANY hidden costs. What you see is really what you get here, and they make it easy for you. We were very grateful to them.

Great Apartment in Bar Harbor
We stayed in this Bar Harbor apartment during our vacation with our two children (ages 20 months and 3 months). The location of the apartment was fantastic for exploring Bar Harbor on foot! We were able to walk to the grocery store, shops and many restaurants. Our toddler really enjoyed playing in the park across the street from the apartment. The path down next to the harbor is not to be missed! We were also very thankful to be close to Acadia for multiple shorter hikes during the day.
The apartment is spacious and very nicely appointed. With two kids, we cooked many of our meals and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The owners also provided two pack and plays and a high chair for our use, which we really appreciated. There was even a nice area downstairs that we could store our stroller. Mo and Scott were great hosts and we enjoyed talking with them during our stay.
We would recommend this apartment to others traveling to Bar Harbor.

A pleasant part of a great vacation
Overall, I was very pleased with the stay ... Pluses - GREAT location with plenty of space for 4+. Minuses - The front door lock was pretty pesky and the noise was pretty bad from a neighbor having a party till 1AM (the bars weren't too loud). Parking is NOT an issue ... spaces are available by 9PM in front and you can easily park a couple hundred feet away.
We didn't cook cause there are so many great places to eat in the area - Cafe This Way, Side Street Cafe, Red Sky (Southwest Harbor) and Town Hill Bistro (Town Hill). The Independent, across the green is a great little coffee spot for your morning and afternoon jolt. And, I can't forget Morning Glory ... very nice bakery.
We really enjoyed the outdoor offerings of Acadia and the apartment was a pleasant part of a great vacation.

Lots of Room & Amenities in a Fantastic Central Location
My family of four had a wonderful 5-night stay in this spacious and comfortable apartment in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor. The apartment is very well appointed with a full kitchen, A/C in both bedrooms, and satellite TV (with NESN). The owners, Scott and Mo, were attentive and low-key at the same time, not to mention very generous with their local knowledge.
Other things we liked:
Comfy beds,
High-quality sheets and linens,
Secure, lightning-fast wi-fi,
Great selection of reading material,
Shorter minimum stay than most (and with no cleaning fee, so we were happy to pitch in with the few small requests at checkout)
Finally, parking was never a problem, either mid-day or overnight. In mid-August, there was always a spot available at any hour, within reasonable distance (i.e., a couple blocks at most).
In short, a terrific base from which to spend some time in Bar Harbor. We hope to return!
The apartment is above our shops Evergreen Pottery and Queen Anne's Flower Shop. We are on site everyday to answer any questions that may arise.
Why they chose this property
We use to live in this apartment. We decided we needed a little space between our home and our work and moved to a house on the other side of the island. We completely renovated the apartment and turned it in to a rental.
What makes this property unique
We are available to help should anything arise during your stay. We are very familiar with all of Acadia. We have hiked, biked, paddled and skied just about every trail and lake. We love to share our knowledge of the island, and can set you up with a great customized day.
