Very clean and as easy to find. A couple negatives for us - the shower is really small but it did get the job done for its purpose. It did get warm at times and could not control the thermostat per each individual rental. The unit was one with the main house and other attached rental and was in instructions not to adjust as would mess with temp in the other units as well. But we just opened up the door and let the cool air flow! Beautiful location!

This was a cozy studio rental that worked well for our family and is a great location in Lake Junaluska. Thoughtful touches and details made this a perfect spot for a family wedding and exploring the area!

This was our 2nd stay but were in a different unit last time that was larger and bedroom was separate but it was not available this time. The unit we got was clean and well stocked and definitely met our needs even if smaller. There are a lot of steps but we knew that. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Lone Star.

Mountain getaway

Lovely stay at the Lone star! Clean and cozy, overlooking gorgeous Lake Junaluska. We enjoyed daily strolls around the lake with our fur baby, and loved the convenience of being close by to Waynesville and Maggie Valley.

Delightful, quiet, clean, comfortable stay in this little slice of heaven at Lake Junaluska. Very appreciative of the fully stocked kitchen and amenities and the little extras; snacks, coffee pods, soaps, games, area information, and even a flashlight! Grateful for time spent on the beautiful deck with only the sounds of birds and wind rustling thru the leaves. Easy, clear check-in/out procedures and instructions and communication with gracious hosts. I was at the lake for a conference so didn’t get to spend as much time at Lone Star as I would’ve liked. I hope to visit this wonderful spot again soon for a true retreat!

Overall a very good stay except that you have to pay the full amount by end of March and a little bit pricey.

As a host, I'm always disappointed when we don't earn a five star review. This guest paid under $100/nt plus a cleaning fee for this apartment that has a fully stocked kitchen, full laundry ( with laundry supplies provided), free use of the lake amenities, a nice welcome basket that includes a restaurant gift card and a private firepit with a fabulous lake view. Everyone has their own personal expectations, but I can say with 100% certainty that you can't find a dumpy hotel for that price! We strive to anticipate all our guests needs and provide everything anyone would need/want so they don't have to ask for a thing during their stay. If our amenities are only "ample", I would welcome feedback about how we could improve. I had no communication with this guest during their stay, so these comments leave me wondering. Regarding payment, that's a matter for VRBO not a host. All the booking platforms require payment in advance. Not my rules, although I think its a good policy. I'm sorry that this guest didn't leave completely pleased and wanting to return like 99.9% of my guests do!

Fall mountain getaway

This was a cozy and comfortable place! My husband and I especially enjoyed the spacious deck and view of the lake and beautiful neighborhood. We were also super impressed with our hosts who thought of every possible need including a very helpful notebook full of information on the area and tasty snacks too! We definitely plan to revisit the great place again!

We had a excellent time. The rental was clean and stocked with everything you need. They left us snacks and a dining gift card to their favorite restaurant. Overall it was a great stay. I will return in the spring.
