Lone Star Retreat # 3 at Lake Junaluska is a charming 1BR apartment with a 60' deck overlooking the lake. PET FRIENDLY, private firepit w/ deck seating, free access to pool, tennis, FAST WiFi. Located on the south side of the lake where its peaceful & quiet. Apt is complete with amenities for a long weekend or an extended stay. 10 min to restaurants, shops & grocery stores. Four golf courses within 5-15 min, ski Cataloochee Mt. 20 min away. Ask about our other properties if we're booked!
Charming 700 sq ft eco-friendly 1 BR/1BA apartment located on the lower level of our home. Private entrance off the spacious 60' deck with breathtaking views of the lake & mountains. We're nestled in a gorgeous wooded area with a tree-house feel! We live in the upper level of the house but always give our guests complete privacy! Must be able to navigate short flights of stairs down to apartment from parking area (as shown in photos, 25 stairs total). Walk to the lake (includes some hills) in 5-10 minutes.

I grew up in Murfreesboro, TN graduated from Middle TN State University and was a commercial lender for a bank for ten years. In 1989 I married my husband Van and moved to Dallas. Van is a native Texan, born in Dallas. He spent some of his formative years in Oklahoma and thus is a die-hard Sooner fan! He attended Midwestern University before enlisting in the Navy in 1969. We've enjoyed being self-employed all our married life which has given us great flexibility and allowed us to move to NC before fully retiring. I loved my years in Texas...there's truly no place like it, and it does "get in your blood". It's just so dang hot! In 2017 we followed through on a dream we've had for 20+ years. We packed it up and moved to the mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina! Call us crazy, but remodeling homes is a hobby for us. We've renovated 8 homes top to bottom since we've been married. Our vacation rental properties are among those projects. I love to dance, laugh out loud and I whistle a lot! I've been told I shouldn't sing along to the radio, but I do it anyway! I believe what comes around, goes around, and that we should all live, and let live. We both enjoy gardening, movies and playing with our beloved pets. We treasure spending time with our fabulous adult children and their spouses and love hosting happy hour with friends on our deck! Van loves firing up his Texas sized smoker and cooking for a crowd. We love Tex-Mex, sushi, walking around the lake and visiting historical places. I love soul music, Van's a Beatles fan, and we both love meeting new people so VRBO is a natural for us! Why they chose this property
The Mountains are calling, and I must go! We lived in Dallas until all our children were in college and semi-independent! We'll always love Texas, but nice cool summers and the beauty of the western North Carolina mountains drew us here! Waynesville is quaint and easily won our hearts. The natural beauty and tranquility of Lake Junaluska is truly paradise!
What makes this property unique
We house-shopped in several towns in the Asheville area. One look at this house was all it took...we knew we were HOME! Every room in the entire house has an amazing view of Lake Junaluska and the mountains. Then there's our deck views...WOW. Its truly an inspiring place to live. If you come stay with us, you'll understand...and you just might not ever want to leave!
