The mountain log cabin is a beautiful retreat. From the deep porch, you have lovely long range mountain views and can watch the sunrise with a mug of coffee. It's in a wooded, peaceful setting surrounded by nature, yet close to nearby activities and shopping. This is a one bedroom, one bath, cozy cabin. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans, dishware, etc. A fire pit and year round hot tub adds to the comfort of your retreat. The comfy bed has ultra-soft linens and towels, and the cabin has plush robes for your nights in front of the fire pit or after a nice soak in the hot tub. We also have a Smart TV, a DVR and a radio/CD player and free wifi for your enjoyment. Sit on your porch and listen to the sounds of nature, watch the wildlife, or see the beauty of the mountains change color throughout the day. In the evening, you will spot rabbits, turkeys and ground hogs, as well as the fireflies dancing in the grass. Enjoy the onset of dusk with a glass of wine in front of a crackling fire. We are pet friendly and have trails on the property for walking your furry friend.

The Town of Waynesville is a great place to visit in any season. Whether one is looking to explore the mountains,, gaze at the natural splendor of fall leaf changes, or view snow covered mountains during the winter, the town offers such vacationing for any preference. With its proximity to the natural wonders of The Great Smoky Mountains National Park as well as the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, the town is truly a place of recreational opportunity. Perhaps one of the town’s greatest assets is its unique and lively Main Street. From its local restaurants and breweries serving up local options, to its diverse stores, Waynesville offers attractions and shopping for all.

There are two trash barrels at the back of the cabin next to the back deck. Please put all trash here before you leave.

Put dishes in dishwasher and turn on, take trash to outside bins and put used linen in tub prior to checkout. Do not leave food in fridge.
Before you check out In winter leave the heater on 62 degrees. In summer, leave the air conditioner on 74 degrees.

The cozy cabin is an easy drive from town and still feels secluded. We loved the fire pit and hot tub with a great view. Host was very attentive and helpful. We will stay again!

This cabin is perfect for a couple, it's cozy and comfortable and has all that anyone needs when staying. It is very quiet, we never seen anyone the entire weekend like you do in some places and it is close to Waynesville and Maggie Valley.

We stayed for 10 days and had a great time. The cabin makes you feel like you're away from everything, although it's only a few minutes drive to town. It was so quiet - the only noise was a rooster or two in the morning which only added to the enjoyment. We arrived in the evening due to flight delays. Judy had the hot tub running for our arrival and left us some eggs from her farm. We asked her later if we could buy some more eggs and she delivered some for free as well as a few vegetables from her garden. Everything you would ever need to prepare meals is provided. This is a great place for couples to stay if you like being away from the city and want to stay in the mountain foothills in a quiet place. It was perfect for us and I highly recommend it. Perhaps the most remarkable thing is when we left I forgot both of our computers. Judy packed and sent them back to us overnight for which I will be eternally grateful. I can'y say enough good things about the cabin and Judy. Stay here - you won't be disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Dream Cabin! The cabin and property are so cozy, and Judy goes the extra mile to make sure guests not only have everything they need, but truly feel welcomed. We appreciated all the special touches and key aspectsof the cabin: From the farm fresh eggs to the coffee and tea bar, to the clean and relaxing hottub, and the proprty trails. We enjoyed them all! Judy is also personable, professional, and helpful. We can't wait to return!

Great for what we needed

This was a great place to stay for a long weekend. The views were outstanding. It had everything we needed and more. My only complaint is the shower, it could use an upgrade or at least new knobs to control the water.

John and Judy Howell were working for the government in the DC area, and got married in narby Maggie Valley, NC. They fell in love with the area and began to look for property. They feel completely blessed to have found this beautiful slice of heaven, which they named Howells at the Moon Farm.

Why they chose this property

This property is so unique. It was an old farm and in the same family for a hundred years until early 2000. It's on 13 acres, surrounded by fields and forests, with spectacular mountain views. You will feel like you are isolated in nature, but you are in fact minutes away from towns, shopping and activities. It is, truly, the best of both worlds. This property has hiking trails, long range mountain views, mountain streams, and privacy.

What makes this property unique

From the front porch of the cabin, you can sit with a glass of wine or hot cup of coffee, and gaze at the mist in the woods and hear the leaves rustling. Just listen to the sounds of nature and watch the fireflies dance in the evening. You will forget how hectic life can be when everything here is so tranquil. The cabin is cozy and comfortable; it's charm and hominess is to be enjoyed by couples, partners, friends, honeymooners, or folks looking to get away. The bedroom is comfy and outfitted in soft, high-end bed linens. The king size bed is a Saatva, and completely luxurious. After a day spent hiking or shopping, you will look forward to snuggling up in your nest. The living room has games and cards, but also has Roku TV and wireless internet for times when you want to 'plug back in'. You will love staying here; it's like your home away from home. There are streams and trails on the property, as well as our hens in the chicken coop. The property will delight you and renew your spirit. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and feel yourself relax.
