Disappointing
Normally, I would not write a review. But when they asked for a 5 star review in return for a discount, I figured I should. Here is the review I sent directly to the owner:
"Actually, there is no way I would give a 5 star review. We were not particularly happy for several reasons:
1. I sent a message through VRBO asking if there was any way we could get more towels. The message was never ever acknowledged. One bath towel for each person seems stingy.
2. The lawn was incredibly overgrown. There were weeds blocking the stairs that were higher than my waist.
3. We were unable to adjust the temperature on the lower level. We tried several times but could not get the thermostat to activate.
4. The kitchen was poorly appointed. No large frying pan. No spatula or flippers.
5. I was under the impression that we could easily walk to Broadway. We were fully aware that the distance was approximately 1.5 miles away, which did not deter us. However, the areas in which we had to travel through were iffy at best. We did not feel safe walking back to the house after dark.
We did, however, appreciate the cleanliness of the house. Also, the beds were very comfortable."
To clarify a few above points. 6 adults (45+) stayed for 4 days. There was one bath towel per person. I did request more but was never acknowledged, therefore no more towels. The street that the house sat was nice. However, it is in an area of revitalization. It is NOT safe to walk back and forth
