Fabulously decorated with all the up-north atmosphere you could ask for and still gives you the comfortable feel. There is just about everything you need to have a great time staying here. Kitchen was very well equipped and worked well.
Beautiful cabin. Cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed at. Really loved this place. Wanted to stay at Avery Lake to bring my Father one more time before he passes. Owner was really flexible when he got hospitalized during our initial planned stay. Can not say enough good things. Only improvement I can think of is updating the listing to make it clear it’s located on a channel that goes out to the lake. We were a little anxious going because we weren’t 100% the channel connected until we got there.
As beautiful as the pics are, they really don't do it justice...this place is gorgeous! While there are neighbors on both sides, it is very quiet. The lake access was great! We rented a pontoon and went fishing daily. The house is spacious and well appointed and the attention to detail is amazing - they have really thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay! It was a fantastic family vacation. We hope to be able to visit again!
Provided a much needed disconnect, while allowing family to spend time enjoying nature.

Cozy cabin stay
Had a great time celebrating the new year with a stay at the Avery Lake cabin. Beautiful view and we loved the wood burning fireplace. Great house for a friend and family trip. Grateful it was dog friendly too!
The furniture was comfortable, the rooms were large, the kitchen was well stocked with pans, silverware, and spices. Theres box fans in every bedroom, the air conditioning kept the house cool on the hottest days of the year. We played corn hole, fished, ping pong, watched some baseball and golfed every day. We are looking to come back next year.
We had a wonderful time staying on Avery Lake again! Love the updates on the house and property. Everything you could ever think of needing is available.
Very enjoyable long weekend spent at this property. Beautiful lake and surrounding scenery. This location is well off the beaten path so great place to go to get away from it all. Would recommend to friends and family.
If you want to go to a relaxing, quiet and CLEAN place for a vacation this is it. We (my husband, daughter, son in law and our 2 grandsons 11&14) had the most fun. We were never board and the beautiful spacioue cabin had everything and I mean everything any of us needed and more. We pick a differnt cabin every year and we all agreed this was our favorite. Thank you to our host as well for their communication. Trust me, you're family will have a FABULOUS time!!
I have stayed in many VRBOs over the years and this home is the nicest appointed I have ever stayed at. It had all the little things that most VRBO renters don't think of or don't bother with that make a big difference in comfort and convenience.
Great for families for a nice up north stay.
Place was well cleaned and did have everything you could ask for. However, the yard was not mowed and the water pressure was terrible. The lake was not what I was expecting. You cannot get in the water by the cottage. You need to go out to the lake. We did enjoy our stay, just a few nit picking items

About the host

We've enjoyed vacationing on Avery Lake for many years (using local hotels and other property rentals) that never allowed our dogs. In spring 2018 our dream up north house came up for sale and we were fortunate enough to be able to buy it. We're now ready to share our home with you and your four legged family members to make your own up north vacation memories.
Why they chose this property
We're offering an affordable family vacation spot that won't break the bank. This home is the ideal place to do everything outdoors or to do nothing. Spend the day riding the trails, boating on the lake, paddle boarding, fishing or just sit relax in the hammock with a good book. Curl up the the fireplace, popcorn and a good movie. The choice is yours.
Avery Lake is a clean lake for fishing, water sports and boating. It's surrounded by state forests and only an hour or so from tourist attractions in Gaylord, Indian River and Mackinac.
