About this property

Power down as hot tub, kayaks, and pool table await, water "footsteps away".

We offer a four level townhouse just a few terraced steps away from the waters of Smith Mountain Lake ideal for friends or family. The entry level has an open floor plan with kitchen, dining, and living room areas facing double sliders opening onto the main deck with views of our cove and big water just beyond. With two full couches, a dining table which seats eight, and a kitchen ready for meal preparation, easy living is at hand. The second floor has two spacious bedrooms sharing a full bath. Each room has lake views with the master bedroom enjoying a small balcony just outside a secluded sitting room. The third floor loft also overlooks the lake via skylights, has a full size slate pool table and various board games. Our walk out basement has a sectional sofa, a large screen TV with X box and Nintendo devices and additional single beds with a hot tub just outside.

Starting September, 2022, our boat slip is not available.

Nice stay on a beautiful lake

I would have given this place a five star, but we needed to bring our own sheets and towels, which was inconvenient. And it would do a whole lot of good if they supplied washcloth, hand towels, bath, towels, and kitchen towels., To expect people who are traveling to pack these things is unacceptable. Other than that, it was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub and the kayaks. The lake is absolutely stunning. We would love to come back to the same condo, but under the conditions of them supplying these items. Thank you for having us.

Hooray at Huddleston! Simply SENSATIONAL at Shangri-La

Family had a TERRIFIC time enjoying our vacation at SML. Home was wonderful as was the owner. We loved the lake, playing pool and relaxing in the hot tub! Definitely will visit again!

Great Family Spot

We loved spending the weekend with our family here! The quiet cove was perfect for playing in the water while still being close to the marina. All of our kids from 6-18 yrs. loved the hot tub, kayaks, pool table and the beauty of the lake! Great getaway.

Large Townhouse

We stayed here for the Thanksgiving holiday and the kitchen was more than adequate. Multiple levels allowed for my family to spread and have privacy. Be sure to arrive with everything you need, nothings close.

The place was conveniently located to get to stores. My kids love taking the kayaks out and the fishing from the yard below the townhouse. The pool table was also a big hit!

Relaxing Lake Stay

We had a great time at the property. The view of the lake was peaceful. The hot tub was relaxing. There is a pool table but we didn’t use it. The kitchen had a full spice rack and a few other pantry items available. Terry did a great job communicating with us.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting

This town home is spacious, immaculate, and beautifully appointed. Every aspect fit our wishes perfectly. We felt at home the moment we walked in the door. We spent hours of time on the deck overlooking Smith Mountain Lake, cooked dinner on the gas grill, kayaked on the lake, played games of pool in the evenings, and relaxed in the hot tub at night. We loved the sitting room and balcony off the master bedroom. Everything about our stay was perfectly organized and Terry provided information and responded to questions immediately. This home provided all the amenities of a first-class resort, all under one roof.

Perfect 10!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this home for four nights. This was our first visit to SML, so we were not sure what to expect or where the "happening" parts of the lake were. We loved everything about this home, from the comfy furnishings, amazingly well-equipped kitchen (spices, cleaners, dishes, pots and pans, etc), tons of games to play, and the easy access to the lake. There was plenty of seating, both in the living room area and out on the deck, so we enjoyed dinner outside and cards/games in the evening inside. In addition, the hot tub was wonderful to have after a day on the lake. The four kayaks were great fun, the kids loved paddling out of the cove and watching the sunset. Renting a boat was easy, as SML Boat Rental was a quick 2 minute drive away. The marina also has a restaurant, where we ate one night and ordered pizza to go on another night. For us, the location was ideal. On one day, we took our boat up to the Bridgewater Plaza (about 1 hour away by boat) and we found the boat traffic in the main channels to be a bit overwhelming. We were happy to return to our quieter area of the lake to swim and tube. We met several of the neighbors, who were extremely friendly and shared their worms with our kids so they could fish off the dock. Such a fun time! Next time we come to SML we would definitely rent this home again.

Nice house, host was very nice. We had a problem with the air when we first got there and they took care of it right away! Very responsive and super nice. It was too warm to use the hot tub but it was nice and clean. Having the kayaks was awesome. We did not swim in the area of the house due to having friends who have a house close by with a dock. But it looked calm and nice. The view was also very pretty. Loved the decks and it was fun to end the night with a game of pool. Will definitely look into staying here again if we come to Smith Mountain.

Excellent Townhome On Quiet Cove

This was our very first visit to SML and we fell in love! Terry has such a wonderful property tucked away on a quiet cove. Clean, stocked with so many extras we never see at other rentals. We talked many times during our stay about coming back and staying at Terry’s place! Thank you for answering all of my questions Terry! You have a lovely place and we hope to come back next year!!

We enjoyed this home! Lots of space, amazing location, and felt peace. The kayaks were fun and easy to use! The grocery store is 30 minutes away so plan your week. The restaurants about about the same distance. I didn’t read about needing to bring/rent my own linens and towels but the host gave me info to the lady who does that. It was an extra expense but I should have read the details so that was my fault. The upstairs beds (king and queen) were super comfy. Be prepaid to take the trash to the dumpster that’s 5 miles away as that’s part of checking out. We weren’t able to because our car was so packed. The host did not charge us the fee so that was very kind. Overall, a wonderful and relaxing stay!

Perfect house for our summer lake vacation

We just got home from our trip to SML and I cannot say enough great things about Terry's home. The house was situated in a quiet cove with easy access to the water. There were floaties to use as well as kayaks so plenty to keep three teen boys busy outside! Inside there was a game room upstairs with a pool table and tons of games. The basement aka "teen cave" had a TV and gaming system where the boys spent the evenings.The house was a great setup for our family and everyone had plenty of space. The house was well appointed with extras such as shampoo/conditioner, spices in the kitchen and tons of dishes and cookware. We had a wonderful week and would rent again from Terry!

Very nice place

There was plenty of room for everyone. Owner was very good to answer questions quickly and gave good recommendations for restaurants. Plenty of games to enjoy for all ages as well as a pool table. Would definitely stay again.

Our family, after years of considering a lake house, acted upon our dream in 2017 after discovering our future waterfront home at Saunders Point. Our adult children and their partners have always enjoyed outdoor activities on the water. So upon seeing this special place, all agreed that Shangri-la is where we need to be. -

Why they chose this property

Love all the space this property provides, and the large main deck with two tables and chairs, not to mention the lake views. The structural offset of 4 individual town homes gives it a private feel with the landscaping and terraced steps to the water an added plus.

What makes this property unique

Being here on the forested southeastern shore of the lake is like stepping back to a simpler place and time. A place for renewal. Whether fishing, swimming, kayaking, or walking nearby hiking trails, or perhaps simply relaxing on our decks overlooking the water, we invite you to settle back and share the joy of this natural setting with us.
